During these more than 15 years in IBM, Horst has enjoyed an international career working in six different countries (England, France, Spain, USA, Czech Republic and twice in China), gaining experience at various levels of the organization (Service Center, Geo, IOT, GMT and Global) supporting the business in both major and emerging markets. Horst has held various HR generalist positions as well as in the Talent and Business & Technical Leadership arena. During his time in IBM, Horst has worked on several important projects such as the centralization of recruitment activities, the divestiture of the PC business, the re-organization in Europe and CEEMEA, the set-up of two separate Integrated Operating teams (IOT’s) as well as the pension projects for different countries around the world. Horst worked as Executive Assistant to Randy MacDonald, Senior Vice President, Human Resources IBM Corporation during the world economic crisis. Prior to his current assignment he was the Director of HR for Central & Eastern Europe supporting 17 countries including Russia and Turkey. Under her leadership, Access China service expanded into a global team of analysts covering China’s 31 provinces and 287 key prefectures, and Chinese Outbound Investment analysis. Qian also heads the Global Economics Unit, a team specializing in quantitative research and forecasting, which forms the core infrastructure for The EIU’s celebrated economic and industry forecasts. Qian has designed and led modelling and scenario analysis across industry spectrums for MNCs and government agencies. Prior to his move to China and establishing Touchdown!, AJ worked at Deloitte Consulting as a management consultant in Dallas for 4 years. His previous professional experience also includes working for two of the largest consumer electronics firms, Panasonic and Hitachi, in Japan and Chicago. Outside of work, AJ devotes time to Beijing community. AJ founded the UT-Austin MBA Alumni Chapter in 2006 and co-founded the University of Illinois Alumni Chapter in 2013. AJ is also a member of the American Chamber of Commerce’s Education Group and an advisory board member of the Beijing Kids magazine. He serves as the Membership Chairman for the EO Beijing Chapter, a global entrepreneurs organization. AJ has been a motivational speaker at more than 300 presentations throughout China. AJ was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He currently lives in Beijing where he is married with two kids who are fluent in both English and Chinese.

Ms. Xu regularly assists multinational companies in navigating a wide range of employment related matters and advises companies on employment related issues that arise in cross border transactions. Ms. Xu has provided consultation across a wide spectrum of HR issues including: • Termination issues. • Development of employee invention programs. • Maternity leave and nursing leave regulations. • Development of process/structure of non-compete payment plans. • Issues related to welfare benefits, housing funds, wages, tax obligation in various jurisdictions in China. • Assisted with obtaining PRC work permits. • Employment related due diligence in M&A transactions. • Provided counsel for direct investment into China. Sharon has experience in the preparation of a broad range of employment related documents and has represented companies in various types of employment disputes. She received her JD from the University of Arkansas in 2002 and her LL.M in Taxation with honor from Northwestern University in 2004.

Read Bio James Zimmerman James Zimmerman is the managing partner for the Beijing office of the international law firm of Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP, and is the author of several publications concerning trade and China related issues, including the well-recognized China Law Deskbook, a publication of the American Bar Association (now in its 4th edition). Mr. Zimmerman is recognized as one of Asia’s leading business lawyers in the AsiaLaw Leading Lawyers Survey and is listed as a Leading Individual in the category of Corporate/M&A for foreign law firms in China of the AsiaPacific Legal 500: The Guide to Asia's Commercial Law Firms. Mr. Zimmerman serves on a number of non-profit boards focused on child health and education issues in China and is active as a fundraiser for charitable organizations. He has lived and worked in Beijing since 1998.
