Brandi Piacente – President and Founder, The Piacente Group Inc.

In 2005, Brandi founded the The Piacente Group Inc. (TPG-IR), a full-service investor relations (IR) and financial communications firm serving China-based companies listed in the US and Hong Kong. With offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, New York, San Francisco and Miami, TPG-IR serves many of China’s leading mid- and large-cap companies and is the IR market leader for pre-IPO and publicly traded companies.

Brandi received her Executive MBA from Columbia University and undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley where she studied Chinese language and literature. Brandi is fluent in Mandarin and has built long-established relationships across China’s corporate and financial sectors since 2005.

Brandi is a world kung-fu (kuoshu) champion and has won multiple national and international full contact lei tai fighting championships. In 2002, she became the first female full contact referee in the world to be certified by The World Kuoshu Federation. She went on to serve as Executive Referee for the full contact divisions in several world Kung-fu tournaments: Brazil 2003, Singapore 2006, Germany 2009 and Argentina 2015. Brandi currently holds the rank of 3rd degree black belt and is the highest-ranking female kuoshu referee in the world.

Cindy Jensen is an Executive Coach and Founder of INPOWER ONE, a consulting firm with a focus on building organizational Leadership. She is also the co-founder of JT Coaching Certification, a company that offers ICF accredited coaching certification programs.

Cindy spent her corporate years working with PepsiCo Foods as part of the Senior Leadership Team working over a span of ten years in multiple functions. She later joined TELUS Mobility as National Account Manager overseeing the company’s two largest retail corporate accounts.

Cindy is a very active member of the community, she is a former Board Director for Educating Girls of Rural China (EGRC), a charity dedicated to helping young women from rural areas of Western China obtain an education.

She is currently a Corporate Strategy Advisor for Business for a Better Society.

She is on the executive as an advisor of VIVA a professional women’s networking organization.

She has her BComm from Dalhousie University, Canada and an international EMBA from Rutgers University, USA.

Cindy has been an advocate for the development of women her entire career and started a corporate mentorship program for women when she was 30 years old in her first senior leadership role. She believes that women supporting women creates an amazing ripple effect for personal growth and career advancement.

Bill Arnold is president, China for ConocoPhillips.

Arnold joined Phillips Petroleum Company in Lafayette, La., in 1986. His early career involved multiple U.S. work locations and various engineering roles for assets located offshore in the Gulf of Mexico, Texas, New Mexico, offshore California and North Slope Alaska.

In 1999, he led a technical evaluation team in the acquisition of the Alaska North Slope assets. In 2000, he transferred to London as asset manager, Central North Sea area. In 2002, he transferred to Aberdeen, Scotland, as manager of the Southern North Sea. In 2006, Arnold transferred to the UAE and was named president of Dubai Petroleum Company. He then moved to Houston and assumed the role of general manager, Upstream HSE in spring 2007. In 2011, he transferred to Alaska and became manager, North Slope Integrated Operations & Capital Projects. Arnold was the general manager for Norway operations from 2015 to 2018.

Arnold earned a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa in 1985 and served on the University of Tulsa Petroleum Engineering Advisory Board. He is a registered professional engineer and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and has held various chair positions. He served as finance chairman on the board of the International School of Aberdeen. Arnold has also authored and published The Little Black Book on Safety and multiple SPE papers and has secured a U.S. patent on a specialized well stimulation technique.

Born in Spain, Fernando Vallina is a graduate of the Autonomous University of Madrid, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Instituto de Empresa (IE), Spain.

Mr. Vallina joined ExxonMobil Chemical in 1987. He has held a wide range of management positions in sales, marketing, technology, planning and supply chain in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Mr. Vallina has lived and worked in China for over eight years, in two separate assignments. He was Global Logistics and Distribution manager, ExxonMobil Chemical Company before assuming the position of Chairman, ExxonMobil (China) Investment Co., Ltd. on March 1, 2017.

Fernando is currently a Vice-Chair of the Board of the Association of International Chemical Manufacturers (AICM), and serves on the Executive Board of the Multinational Companies’ Committee of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, and the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in China (Beijing). He also Co-Chairs the Women Advisory Council, focusing on gender equality and diversity matters.

Lim Yoke Loon is President, Greater China of The Dow Chemical Company (Dow), leading all geographic activities in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Prior to being named to the current position, Lim was General Manager of Dow Coating Materials, Asia Pacific, based in Singapore, and with additional oversight responsibilities for Advanced Materials in Asia Pacific. Lim joined Dow through the acquisition of Rohm and Haas in 2009. Before joining Dow, Lim spent 11 years with Ciba Specialty Chemicals where he held various leadership roles in sales and marketing.

李娜获有无机化学博士学位,自2015年加入埃克森美孚亚太研发中心,作为项目带头人,研发多种新材料配方以解决客户实际应用问题,并发表多项美国专利。在埃克森美孚中国投资项目组连续三年获得“全球优秀员工”荣誉,在项目审批、技术交流以及厂区消防设计关键问题攻克方面作出杰出贡献。

作为公司演讲俱乐部的副主席和工会负责人,李娜积极参与社会公益和文化交流活动,为员工利益发声,也对推动女性社会地位进步充满希望和热情。

Sarah Wagner is a Beijing-based Project Manager enhancing trade relations between her home country Germany and China. Previously, she acted as Senior Policy Manager for the biggest European Tech Trade Association in Brussels, Belgium, and as German Head Delegate at the G20 Young Professionals Summit in Sydney, Australia. She holds a LLM in European and International Law from Maastricht University in the Netherlands, with stays in Bordeaux, Moscow, Toronto and Hong Kong.

Sarah co-founded Unleash Today, a passion project helping young women to unleash their potential in the workplace. Together with a global team of 30 volunteers, she published an Amazon bestseller handbook and regularly organizes community events to empower young women to be their best authentic self. Next to Unleash Today, Sarah co-founded Here She Is, a podcast featuring visionary diversity leaders, to share the inspiring stories and success strategies of role models around the world. Her efforts to empower young women have been recognised by being shortlisted for the German Digital Female Leader Awards 2019.

Sarah loves swing dancing, travelling Asia, and learning her sixth language, Mandarin.

The Women Empowerment Awards in China is a new initiative launched by the Women's Advisory Council (WAC), an engaged network of leaders and decision-makers committed to advancing gender equality through women empowerment in businesses in China. In 2019, the WAC was established through the joint efforts of the American Chamber of Commerce in China and women empowerment consultancy SCHSAsia. WAC members are comprised with multinational organizations who understand that gender equality, sustainable development, and business success are inextricably linked. Current members include BP, Chayora, Coca-cola, Dow, ExxonMobil, Henkel, HPE, Johnson & Johnson, Mars, Merck, Microsoft, and UFH. Being on the council is an opportunity to meet like-minded leaders and create positive impact while driving change in China and beyond.
