For this month's event we are honored to have Lin Gao an executive coach and trainer who has also served on AmCham China's Board of Governors for the past four years, introduce her recently published book《职得 – 成为自己故事里的英雄》 (Be the hero of your story).
Today Chinese nationals are the driving force of MNC’s growth in China. While some would argue there is a glass ceiling for Chinese employees working in MNCs, many have obviously cracked the ceiling and risen to the top. So what does it take for them to get into the C-suite? What competencies are critical and yet particularly challenging to Chinese employees as they move up? In the book, Lin talks about the importance of critical thinking, speaking up, networking and personal branding, the key competences that are often overlooked. She also shares her own struggle of getting out of the comfort zone to pursue her doctoral degree while leading a global team and raising a family.
