CEO of Ogilvy Public Relations

Scott is a 31-year veteran of Ogilvy & Mather, having started his career with Ogilvy Public Relations in New York in 1987.
 
Today, Scott is responsible for the leadership and management of Ogilvy Public Relations’ highly awarded Asia-Pacific network, covering 30 offices in 15 countries. It is the largest and most influential international public relations network in Asia, and the largest region in the company’s global network.
 
During his time in Asia, Scott has been a major driving force behind the growth of the network throughout the region. He was instrumental in establishing Ogilvy Public Relations China in 1995, overseeing the opening of offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. The business in China now consists of more than 500 employees and regularly ranks as the leading international agency in the market.
 
Since 2011, Scott has been North Asia President for Ogilvy Public Relations and was subsequently appointed President and CEO, Asia Pacific in 2014. Under his leadership, Ogilvy Public Relations served as counsel to Lenovo during the highly publicized Lenovo-IBM PC acquisition, led the award-winning “Pambassador” campaign created for the city of Chengdu, and produced the critically-acclaimed “Great Chinese Names for Great Britain” campaign for VisitBritain which picked up one Gold and two Silver PR Lions at Cannes Lions 2015.

In recognition of his contribution to the industry, Scott has received a number of personal awards. Most notably, he was voted to the Global Power List by PR Week from 2014-16, and he was featured in Campaign Asia as one of a selected 11 Most Admired Agency Leaders in the region. He was also been awarded a prestigious Individual Achievement Sabre by the Holmes Report in 2012.
 
Due to his vast experience and sector knowledge, Scott is a leading media trainer and commentator on trends in marketing communications, brand building and market entry into China. He regularly contributes to leading mainstream media, including The Washington Post, China Daily and the South China Morning Post, as well as trade publications, such as Campaign Asia and PR Week. Scott is also a keen writer and has authored a number of successful books, including “The Lighter Side of China” - reflecting on his professional and personal life in Greater China.
 
Scott is a graduate of Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. He is a perpetual student of Mandarin Chinese and lives in Beijing with his wife and two children.
