Christine Yuan
General Manager, Corporate Relations China at RioTintoChristine Yuan is General Manager of Corporate Relations for Rio Tinto China. She leads to develop the company’s corporate relations strategy and maintains high level engagement with various Chinese government agencies, policy-makers and think-tanks to advance a long-term strategic partnership with China. Currently Christine serves as the Vice-Chairwoman of AmCham China Government Affairs Committee.
Prior to joining Rio Tinto, Christine worked with leading US law firms and multinational companies, including Baker & McKenzie LLP, Covington & Burling LLP, Volvo and Corning. She has extensive experiences in various corporate functions with key focus on government affairs, legal affairs, public policy advocacy, market access, media relations and corporate social responsibility.
Christine received her master degree from Peking University School of Economics and her bachelor of law degree from National Huaqiao University Law School.
Tim Stratford
Chairman at AmCham ChinaTim Stratford is Chairman at AmCham China and Managing Partner in Covington & Burling LLP’s Beijing office and a member of the International Trade, Corporate and Government Affairs Practice Groups. Mr. Stratford’s practice is focused on advising international clients doing business in China and assisting Chinese companies seeking to expand their businesses globally. As a former Assistant U.S. Trade Representative, Mr. Stratford is the most senior former U.S. trade official working as a member of the U.S. business community in China. Except for the five years he spent in Washington, D.C. in government service (2005-2010), Mr. Stratford has lived and worked continuously in the greater China region since 1982.
While at USTR, Mr. Stratford was responsible for developing and implementing U.S. trade policy toward mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and Mongolia. He worked closely with other senior U.S. and Chinese officials from numerous government departments and agencies to address problems encountered by companies engaged in bilateral trade and investment and co-chaired a number of important bilateral working groups and dialogues established under the U.S.-China Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade and the U.S.-China Strategic & Economic Dialogue.
Prior to serving at USTR, Mr. Stratford was General Counsel for General Motors’ China operations, where he was a member of GM’s senior management team in China and oversaw the company’s legal and trade policy work. Mr. Stratford also served previously as Minister-Counselor for Commercial Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing and as Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in China. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Brigham Young University, and is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
Randal Phillips
Managing Partner for Asia at Mintz GroupRandal Phillips is a Partner and heads the Mintz Group’s Beijing office and activities across Asia.
Randy spent 28 years with the Central Intelligence Agency’s National Clandestine Service, most recently serving as the Chief CIA representative in China. He has an extensive background in foreign field operations, policy and program management, and leadership development. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Bahasa Indonesian.
Randy has lived and traveled throughout China and elsewhere in Asia for the U.S. Government. Additionally, he has managed worldwide and regional programs from Washington. Randy has extensive relationships with officials and business leaders throughout the continent.
Randy has deep expertise on issues relative to Asia, with particular emphasis on China. This includes an intimate knowledge of the full range of political, economic, trade, investment and security issues involving China, from a bilateral as well as a multilateral perspective. Randy has extensive experience unraveling a variety of complex matters involving finance, trade and fraud.
Randy has a B.A. in diplomacy and foreign affairs from Miami University, and a Masters of International Public Policy from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
Lester Ross
Partner at WilmerHaleAs Chair of AmCham China Policy Committee, Les Ross is a longstanding leader of the American business and legal communities in China and in frequent contact with government officials and other stakeholders.
Mr. Ross concentrates his practice on mergers and acquisitions and regulatory matters and has experience in a broad range of industries. He has represented both foreign and local companies and has particular experience advising foreign companies on competition law and regulatory compliance in China.
Mr. Ross represents foreign companies in their strategic expansion in China through direct investments and mergers and acquisitions in industries ranging alphabetically from agriculture to water services. He also has extensive experience representing foreign banks and corporations, including Chinese entities, in their strategic expansion in the United States, particularly focusing on M&A and regulatory clearances and compliance. He has also represented clients in trade, dispute resolution and regulatory matters in China.
Matthew Murray
Ministerial-Counselor for Economic Affairs at U.S. Embassy BeijingMatt Murray joined the U.S. Embassy in Beijing as Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs in August 2018. He has spent the majority of his Foreign Service career promoting U.S. economic ties with the Asia Pacific region with a particular emphasis on U.S.-China relations.
Matt previously worked in China as Deputy Chief of the Political and Economic Section at the U.S. Consulate General in Shanghai (2008-11) and as an Economic Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing (2005-08). He continued to focus on U.S.-China relations as a Special Assistant from 2011 to 2013 in the Office of the Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment where he supported both bilateral dialogue with China and multilateral engagement at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC).
From 2013 to 2016, Matt served as Counselor for Economic Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Canberra, Australia where his team launched the Ambassador’s Innovation Roundtable to promote collaboration between the U.S. and Australian governments and business communities. He returned to Washington, D.C. in 2016 to work side-by-side with the State Department’s Operations Center as Director of the 24/7 Watch in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research.
Matt also served early in his career at U.S. diplomatic posts in Tanzania and India, and he earned master’s degrees at the U.S. Army War College (2010) and the University of Pittsburgh (1997). Matt and his wife, Sharla, are natives of Maryland, and they have three sons – Joshua, Noah, and Daniel. Matt and Sharla both are graduates of Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland.
Wen Wang
Executive Dean at Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of ChinaDr. WANG Wen is a Professor and the Executive Dean of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Vice President of Silk Road School, Renmin University of China. He is the most active and youngest person in charge of important think tank in China at present. Under his direction, RDCY has been on the list of “the 150 Top Global Think Tanks” by University of Pennsylvania for three consecutive years. Dr. WANG has visited nearly 100 countries (including South Pole) and conducted extensive researches and field investigations, met with Presidents and Prime Minister in more than thirty countries. He was co-chairman of T20 in 2016 and currently the managing director of the Silk Road Think Tank Association (SRTA).
Dr. WANG Wen is an influential think-tank scholar in China whose reports have been approved by Chinese policy-maker for dozens of times. Besides, he is now the consultant expert for several Chinese government ministries including the People's Bank of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Commerce etc. In the year 2016, Dr. WANG was invited to be the one of the ten speakers to participate the symposium on philosophy and social sciences hosted by President Xi Jinping. He won the honor of “2014 Top Ten Figures of Chinese Think Tank”, “2015 China Reform and Development Pioneers”, “2016 Influential Figures of Chinese Think Tank”, “2017 Chinese Famous Academic and Cultural Scholar” and so on.
Dr. WANG Wen specialized in global governance, major power relations, green finance and macroeconomics policies. He is also the Secretary-General of Green Finance Association of China, Consultant Fellow at Counselors’ Office of the State Council of China and so on. He used to be the reporter of People’s Daily, the most important newspapers in China, from 2005 to 2013. Dr. WANG worked as Chief Op-eds Editor and Editorial Writer at Global Times, one of the most best-selling newspapers under the People’s Daily, from 2010 to 2013 and won the China News Awards in 2011. He has become the head of RDCY since 2013. Duanzhi She
Vice President, Government & Public Affairs, Greater China at Nike Sports (China) Co., Ltd.Mr. SHE Duanzhi joined Nike China in June 2015 as Vice President, Government and Public Affairs Greater China. In that role, Duanzhi manages Nike’s overall GPA portfolio in Greater China, including supporting the sales and commercial organization, advancing Nike’s trade agenda, protecting Nike’s assets and innovations, and enabling favorable tax and financial policies.
Duanzhi started his career as a journalist in the 1980s with the State Administration of Foreign Languages Publishing and Distribution, under the State Council Information Office, covering current affairs and international news. He joined the private sector in 1998 as manager/director of Chinese Government Relations, the American Chamber of Commerce in China. Subsequently, he managed government and public affairs for several other major multinational companies and associations, including Airbus Industries China, United States Information Technology Office (USITO) Beijing, United Technologies Corporation, IBM and Royal Philips.
Duanzhi holds a Master’s degree in communications from Illinois State University, an MBA from Fordham University in New York, and two bachelor’s degrees from Beijing University.

Max Chen
Vice President, Government Affairs & Policy at GE (China) Co., Ltd.Max Chen is currently Vice President of Government Affairs & Policy at GE China. In this role, Max leads his team to represent GE before various Chinese government agencies and policy-makers, and build network of relevant contacts in third-party organizations to execute GE government affairs and policy priorities in support of GE business growth in China.
Before joining GE in September, 2013, Max was Senior Director of Government Affairs at Microsoft China for 8 years, responsible for managing Government Affairs team to ensure market access, government collaboration, policy advocacy, and to create new business opportunities. Min Qin

Min Yi
Chief Advisor China at MTRMr. Yi has 29 years of work experience in top multinational companies in China after 8 years of working in top Chinese government and research institutes. His global and local leadership experience covers energy, manufacturing, healthcare and urban transition oriented development industries, with proven track records of establishing new businesses, joint ventures and mega-project negotiations with the Chinese government and partners.
Mr. Yi has most recently become Chief Advisor of MTR Corporation Ltd after spending four years being CEO of MTR China. Prior to joining MTR, he was consecutively GE China Corporate Government Affairs GM and Novartis China President from 2008 to 2012. Before he started to explore such extensive industries, he spent most of his career life in BP, covering extensive senior roles in aviation, government affairs, JV project set-up as well as business roles with bottom-line responsibilities.
Mr. Yi holds a Master of Engineering from China Academy of Social Science, MBA from Ashridge Management College UK, and a PMD from Harvard Business School USA.

Jane Zhang

With her extensive experience in international affairs and public policy, Jane provides strategic counseling to world-leading multi-national corporations in agriculture, healthcare, FMCG, ICT and other industries. Previously, Jane led APCO Beijing as its Managing Director and held leading positions in Government Affairs, Issues and Crisis for Greater China at Burson-Marsteller. Prior to that, Jane served in various leading roles at Pfizer China in public affairs and policy, business strategy and operational management. Bing Zhou
Vice President, Government Affairs at Dell Greater ChinaBing Zhou serves as the Vice President of Dell Greater China. As the leader of Greater China Government affairs team, he is responsible for Dell’s communication and cooperation with governments in Greater China region. Currently he serves as the Chairman of AmCham China Government Affairs Committee.
Prior to Dell, Bing served at senior management positions of Government affairs at GE, Novartis and other MNCs. Bing was the Deputy Director of Bo’ao Forum for Asia (BFA) and is an expert on Asian Economic Integration. Bing has also served at MOFCOM for a long period of time.
Bing earned his master degree at University of International Business and Economics and bachelor degree at Wuhan University.
