The US-China bilateral relationship is of the utmost importance to global economic development and security. 2023 has witnessed a frosty bilateral relationship characterized by a growing lack of trust on both sides of the Pacific. However, recent high-level visits made to Beijing by US Secretary of State, Antony J. Blinken and US Secretary of Treasury, Janet Yellen offers the chance for a potential re-set for bilateral engagement between the two countries.
This roundtable discussion will evaluate the importance of these high-level visits, prospects for stabilizing of the US-China relationship, and the opinions of experts, members of Congress, and the administration based in Washington D.C.
AmCham China's Policy + program is pleased to invite Jeremie Waterman, President of the China Center and Vice President for Greater China at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He will share the recent views from DC and answer members' questions.
*A light breakfast will be served during the event
