The Anhui Provincial Government has consistently prioritized the deepening of healthcare reform and has continuously increased investment in healthcare, while strengthening the construction of the public health service system. In a favorable policy environment, Anhui Province has been striving to build a leading domestic modern pharmaceutical industry system. After years of development, Anhui Province has formed an industrial system in which raw materials and chemical drugs, traditional Chinese medicine and its production serve as the foundation, while biological drugs and medical devices are cultivated, and cell and gene therapy as well as medical artificial intelligence are positioned as part of a key strategic layout for the future. The pharmaceutical distribution and outsourcing services work in synergy with the bio-pharmaceutical industry system, which has initially formed industrial clustering in cities such as Hefei, Fuyang, and Bozhou.
Members of AmCham China have always attached great importance to the development of Anhui Province's medical industry and have provided strong support for healthcare reform and the development of medical institutions. We believe that communication between businesses and policy makers can provide valuable references for the optimization of future policies, thereby better meeting the actual clinical needs of patients and safeguarding the health and well-being of the people. In line with this belief, AmCham China will lead a delegation of enterprises to visit Anhui Province in July 2023.
