Michael Hart is President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China based in Beijing. He has over twenty-five years of business experience in Asia, including nineteen years in mainland China.

As President, Michael oversees all advocacy, programs, partnerships, and insights provided by the Chamber to support the business growth of nearly 900 foreign corporations operating in China, including most of the U.S. Fortune 500. The chamber’s advocacy includes the impressive American Business in China White Paper and Business Climate Survey each published annually as well as numerous interactions with both the US and Chinese governments on behalf of our members.

Prior to joining AmCham China, Michael spent most of his career in commercial real estate in Taipei, Shanghai and Tianjin including almost 20 years for a NYSE listed property services firm. He started in the research division briefing real estate owners, occupiers and investors on transactions and macro trends, he then opened, built, and led a branch office for the company in one of China’s largest Tier 1.5 cities for over a decade. Following this, Michael opened a private consulting and investment firm that among other projects invested in quick service restaurants.

In addition to this work, Michael was a long-term AmCham member and served on the Tianjin chapter’s Executive Committee for nearly 15 years including several terms as the local Chairman.

Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on finance and banking from the University of Missouri-Columbia in the U.S. He is a fluent speaker of mandarin Chinese. Michael was born and raised near Kansas City, Missouri.

The Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of NDRC is responsible for formulating and implementing strategies, plans and policies in relation to green development, implementing sustainable development strategies, and undertaking ecological development and reform work; formulating and implementing the policy plans for conservation and comprehensive utilization of energy resource and circular economy, proposing the objectives of energy consumption control and implementing the same; coordinating the promotion of green industries and cleaner production; organizing and coordinating major energy-saving demonstration projects and the widespread application of new products, technologies, and equipment; and undertaking specific work of National Leading Group for Climate Change, Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction in respect of energy conservation.

Mr. Siddharth Chatterjee took office as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in China on 16 January 2021 and presented his letter of credentials to the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, on 14 April 2021. The Resident Coordinator (RC), is the highest ranking representative of the UN Development System. The RC is the designated representative of - and reports to - the UN Secretary-General.

Mr. Chatterjee has more than 25 years of experience in international cooperation, sustainable development, humanitarian coordination and peace and security, which he has acquired at the United Nations and externally.

Most recently, he served as United Nations Resident Coordinator in Kenya after holding other leadership positions across the Organization, including Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Kenya, Regional Director for the Middle East and Europe for the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Denmark and Chief of Staff in the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI). He also held leadership positions with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Indonesia, Somalia, South Sudan and Sudan and in United Nations peacekeeping operations with the United Nations Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNMIBH).

Mr. Chatterjee has also served in the Red Cross Movement (IFRC) as the Chief Diplomat and Head of Resource Mobilization in Switzerland.

A 3 times TEDx speaker, he is a regular opinion contributor on humanitarian and development issues for a range journals which includes Newsweek, Los Angeles Times, the Hill, Reuters, Huffington Post, Forbes, CNBC Africa, CNN, Al Jazeera, the Guardian as well as of late he has also published in mainstream Chinese journals.

Mr. Chatterjee holds a master’s degree in public policy from Princeton University in the United States of America and a bachelor’s degree from the National Defence Academy in India.

Mr. Chatterjee is married, and they have a son.

Mr. Peng Jilai is currently a Managing Partner at SynTao Consulting and the General Manager of the Beijing office. He also serves as the Director of the China Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Guide, a board member of the China Youth Climate Action Network (CYCAN), a certified trainer for the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and a mentor at the SynTao Academy.

Mr. Peng has over 15 years of experience in CSR/ESG consulting, providing in-depth services to numerous large domestic and international companies across industries such as automotive, fast-moving consumer goods, healthcare, finance, ICT, and data centers. He specializes in developing sustainable development strategies, building ESG management systems, stakeholder communication, CSR training, CSR/ESG report writing, and planning, supervising, and evaluating CSR projects. In addition to consulting projects, he is dedicated to promoting collaboration between businesses and non-profit organizations, successfully establishing numerous cross-sector and cross-department partnerships. He is also skilled in the design, execution, and evaluation of public welfare projects, focusing on issues such as children, gender, environmental protection, health, and nutrition, and has provided consulting services to over ten major domestic foundations.

Gracie Sun serves as Managing Director of the Green Finance Center and Senior Advisor of the Paulson Institute. The Center was launched in 2018 to focus on the use of market mechanisms to promote green development and support climate change. She has served as an Advisor to the Paulson Institute since its launch. In this capacity, she played a key role in the creation and launch of the U.S.-China Green Fund.

Ms. Sun also has broad experience in the consulting field in China. She is a Founding Partner and the President for China of Basilinna LLC, a strategic business consulting firm headquartered in Washington DC. Prior to that, she also worked as a Senior Counsel at Ogilvy Public Relations China. She served as Executive Vice President of Sierra Asia, an Advisory firm based in Beijing, Shanghai and Washington DC.

Ms. Sun was also a Managing Director for China with Albright Stonebridge International, a consulting firm headed by former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and former U.S. National Security Advisor Sandy Berger. During her time at Stonebridge, she served as the China Representative to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and represented major U.S., European and Chinese firms in the market. She also worked for MBP Consulting, the Asia consulting practice of Mayer, Brown, a top 10 law firm based in Chicago, founded by Ambassador Mickey Kantor.

Gracie Sun has represented and advised multinational corporations on government strategy, market access, communication strategy, crisis management, intellectual property, and investment issues in China, serving in wide range of industries including Pharmaceutical, Telecommunication, Media and Entertainment, Mining, Agriculture, Banking and Financial Organizations.

Gracie often speaks and writes about green finance and other issues in the U.S.-China bilateral relationship. She has an MBA and lives and works in Shanghai.

Mr. Zhong Jiawei is a corporate communications and reputation management consultant with 15 years of experience. He currently leads the Corporate Communications and Reputation Management consulting practice at Edelman's Beijing office, focusing on providing services such as corporate trust building, corporate positioning and communication, crisis and sensitive event management, media strategy, and communication portfolio design for leading companies in the mobility, food and nutrition, health sciences, and resource mining sectors. Additionally, Mr. Zhong is responsible for Edelman China's Sustainability and Social Impact communication services, helping to develop ESG communication strategies and enhance overall corporate impact.

Since joining Edelman in 2013, Mr. Zhong has led teams in serving industry-leading companies and organizations, including Royal Dutch Shell, Rio Tinto, Volvo Group, Mars, China Jianyin Investment Ltd., the World Gold Council (WGC), PayPal, and Alcon. He has been praised by senior clients as "a young yet trustworthy advisor who provides practical, in-depth, and effective consulting advice by combining the broader business and communication environment with the client's operational reality."

Before joining Edelman, Mr. Zhong worked at Ogilvy's Beijing office, where he spent nearly three years providing technology leadership and analyst relations services for Intel. Prior to that, he worked on a new energy vehicle battery system project, a collaboration between CITIC Guoan Group and the National Engineering Laboratory for Electric Vehicles at Beijing Institute of Technology, where he was responsible for communications.

Mr. Zhong graduated from the School of Literature and Journalism at Minzu University of China. Outside of his professional work, he is also a writer, contributing to industry media such as *International Public Relations*. Together with his wife, Wen Ya, who is also a consultant, he has co-authored five books focused on organizational communication and mindset development and launched four online courses.
