Event Details

This event offers both in-person and online ticket options.

AmCham China, Tianjin, in partnership with the European Chamber Tianjin Chapter, the German Chamber of Commerce in China | North China, and Tianjin Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce, cordially invites you to join us for an in-person breakfast briefing on Jan 18 at the Shangri-La Tianjin to network with members from the four chambers. For those unable to attend in person, you are also welcome to join the virtual presentation and Q&A sessions from 8:30-9:45 AM.

2023 was supposed to be the year the Chinese economy bounced back. Instead, the news was dominated by innovations in AI, competition in tech, and a rollercoaster in US-China relations. As we enter 2024, what will AI mean to business and the economy and what should we expect out of US-China relations?

We are particularly excited that Anthony Marshall, Senior Research Director of the IBM Institute for Business Value, and Cindy W. Anderson, Global Engagement and Eminence Leader of the IBM Institute for Business Value, will be sharing (online) their latest report on "Embracing AI and Ecosystems: 5 Trends for 2024." Before he shares that report, AmCham China President Michael Hart will give an overview of the topics he is watching in the US-China relationship which include technology, the economy, and our allies.

This event will cover the following topics:

Outlook 2024 on US-China Relations

  1. The Chinese economy
  2. Bilateral Relations
  3. Other factors (Technology, Europe)

Embracing AI and Ecosystems: 5 Trends for 2024 (online sharing)

  1. Organizations move from "plus AI" to AI plus.
  2. People who use AI will replace people who don't.
  3. The data conversation moves out of IT, into the C-suite.
  4. Operating models bend so they don't break.
  5. Ecosystems are not part of the strategy; they are the strategy.

The meeting link for the online portion will be shared with RSVPs before the event.
