Young Professionals Management Workshop Series: The People Aspect of Doing Business in China
The AmCham China-Guanghua Young Professionals Management Workshop Series helps young professionals who strive to become effective managers within their organizations and build global careers. Offered by the Peking University, Guanghua School of Management's International MBA program in collaboration with the AmCham China Young Professionals Committee, the series provides both critical management skills training, career planning and practical insights into doing business in China and building a global career.
In this module, you will learn how to manage the people aspect of doing business in China. Through discussion, case study analysis and interactive exercises, you will gain practical insights into Chinese employees' values and behaviors, as well as learn how to (1) manage Chinese employees and (2) do business with Chinese firms.
Zhang Yanlong is an Assistant Professor at Guanghua School of Management at Peking University. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Duke University. His research interests include economic sociology, organization studies, social networks and social capital. He currently studies entrepreneurs' social networks, local business associations and corporate social capital.
