ICT Public Debriefing: Government Policies to Spur Indigenous Development
In 2014, China has emphasized achieving breakthrough developments in its information technology sector through major government initiatives. On June 24, the "National Integrated Circuit Industry Development Promotion Guidelines" were unveiled at the national level, followed by a series of regional IC support measures. On July 10, the "Notice on National Subsidy Fund Administrative Measures for the Development of the Internet of Things (IoT) Industry and the Rare Earth Industry" was released jointly by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the Ministry of Finance (MOF), supporting the on-going use and industrialization of the IoT. Measures for promoting the information technology development also include support from central and ministerial mega-project funding.
