Gansu province, located on a prime section of the ancient Silk Road, will be the destination of AmCham China's next Business & Investment Outreach (BIO) in August. It will be AmCham China's first BIO trip to Gansu.

As a key part of China's plan to build a "Silk Road Economic Belt," initiated by President Xi Jinping last fall, Gansu is well-positioned to promote its economic development and keep pace with other provinces.

With rich deposits of minerals, Gansu is building an important industrial base based on energy and raw materials. Its major industries include petrochemicals, metallurgy, mechatronics, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, new materials, and new technology.

During the three-day trip, the delegation will make two stops at Lanzhou and Zhangye. Gansu senior provincial and municipal leaders will meet the AmCham China delegation and present Gansu's latest investment climate and policies. This will present a fantastic opportunity for members to explore and learn about Gansu first-hand.
PROGRAM:
August 20: (Wednesday) Arrive in Lanzhou
August 21: (Thursday) Meet with Gansu provincial leaders and visit Lanzhou New Area; travel to Zhangye in the evening
August 22: (Friday) Meeting with city leaders and business visit in Zhangye
