As daily headlines highlight current issues in food safety, China is also faced with the long-term demands of providing food for its domestic market. Although increasing imports and the acquisition of land overseas have supplemented China's food supply, climate change, water shortages and food safety risks continue to complicate China's efforts to increase its food output. Furthermore, as China's food imports grow, undernourishment and food scarcity remain significant problems in the country's poorer regions.
AmCham China's Agriculture Forum is pleased to present an informative event featuring Dr. Kevin Chen, agricultural expert and China representative of the International Food Policy Research Institute, who will be addressing China's food-related issues, along with possibilities for long-term solutions that will ensure China's food security.
