AmCham China's Thursday HR Series returns on September 12 with an in-depth panel discussion on China's oil and gas industry. Experts from Sinopec, ConocoPhillips, the oil and gas consulting firm IPA, and The Beijing University of Chemical Technology will debate and discuss the current HR trends in the energy sector. Other topics will include the current knowledge gap of Chinese graduates, HR policies within state owned oil companies, and how multinational companies adapt to continuously changing business environments.

Panel Experts
Lydia Zhou: Lydia Zhou is general manager, human resources for ConocoPhillips China. She has over 10 years of experience in human resource roles, which include the oversight of compensation and benefits, succession planning, organizational and leadership development, performance management, and workplace relations. Before assuming her role with ConocoPhillips, Lydia worked in other multinational companies in telecom, consulting, and other industries.
Helen Zhao: As an HR practitioner, Helen Zhao has worked for over ten years in both national and international energy industries. Companies include China's Sinopec and South Africa's Sasol.

Pengchen Fu: Pengchen Fu has worked in the chemical industry for almost two decades. During this time, he has also occupied a variety of academic roles including associate professor at the Univeristy of Hawaii and professor at the China University of Petroleum. Pengchen is currently a professor at Beijing University of Chemical Technology. In addition to working in academia, Pengchen has also spent time in the private sector, as a member of the chemical consulting firm Diversa.

Moderator
Gregory Ray: Gregory Ray is the General Manager of Greater China for IPA. His professional background is in data analysis and benchmarking capital costs for mega projects in the oil, mining and chemicals industries. One of Gregory's goals is increase the involvement of major Chinese companies like CNOOC, Sinopec, PetroChina, Chinalco, and China Gold in areas such as Africa and South America.
