Join AmCham for the third installment of the Managing Fraud and Corruption Risks series for a discussion on the legal implications of tackling fraud and corruption.

A panel of experts will address the legal aspects of fraud - implications and recourse, including: Tracking and predicting PRC anti-corruption enforcement trends; understanding the interplay of PRC, US, and UK anti-bribery laws; legal risk mitigation through robust compliance programs that are realistic for the China business environment; practical tips for anti-corruption investigations in China; data preservation and privacy; avoiding state secrets issues; and employment law considerations.

Ted Gizewski is a general manager and assistant general counsel for Microsoft in Beijing. He currently serves as Microsoft's chief compliance officer, managing a compliance team and overseeing Microsoft's ethics, privacy, and compliance programs for the PRC, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Susan Munro is a partner at Steptoe & Johnson LLP and a member of the International Department based in the firm's Beijing office. She has over twelve year experience advising financial institution, MNCs and investment funds on China related business. She has conducted China-related Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigations and regularly assists clients with development and implementation of compliance policies tailored for China.

Beatrice Schaffrath is the compliance counsel and director of business practices-China with United Technologies Corporation. Situated in Shanghai, she advises and assists all of the UTC businesses in China as well as other is Asia on legal, compliance and enforcement matters. Formerly a Beijing-based partner, Schaffrath is experienced in cross-border operational, regulatory, and crisis-management issues and challenges. She is a past vice-chair of the American Bar Association's China Law Committee.
