International Tax Issues from Transfer Pricing (CLE Credit Available*)
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS)'s new, centralized Transfer Pricing Operations (TPO) practice is now largely operational, and its impact is being felt across all aspects of transfer pricing enforcement. The TPO aims to bring enhanced expertise and consistency to IRS transfer pricing positions. As a result, and with the benefit of increased resources, transfer pricing audits are becoming more coordinated and focused, with an eye toward developing the IRS's best possible case for litigation; the number of pending court cases with transfer pricing issues is increasing; and Advance Pricing Agreements may, in certain circumstances, become a more attractive alternative than they were in the past.
AmCham China's Tax Forum cordially invites you to attend a seminar by Sanford W. Stark, who will provide an update on these and other current developments in the IRS's transfer pricing enforcement efforts. It may introduce how headquarters of American companies may be dealing with US transfer pricing issues and the implications for Chinese subsidiaries of corporate policy changes. Brett Norwood will moderate the event.
