Globalization, Lawyers, and Emerging Economies: The Critical Role of General Counsel
CLE credit available*
In this lecture, Professor David Wilkins of Harvard Law School will discuss a path-breaking global research initiative examining how the market for corporate legal services is evolving in key emerging markets such as China, India, Brazil, and South Africa, and how these changes are in turn reshaping the global legal services market. In particular, Professor Wilkins will present preliminary evidence from interviews with more than 100 general counsels operating in emerging markets about how the in-house legal function is developing around the world, and what these changes are likely to mean for lawyers, businesses, and the rule of law.
