AmCham China hosts this members-only panel on China's VAT pilot reform. The State Council has announced its plan to expand the current VAT pilot program, which was first rolled out in Shanghai. The VAT reform is intended to integrate the two major sales taxes in China for certain industries. It is due to be implemented in Beijing, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Hubei, Guangdong, Xiamen and Shenzhen by the end of the year. This reform will have substantial implications for many businesses.
The expert panel discussion will provide an overview of the program and discuss the implications for companies based on experience with Shanghai's VAT pilot program.
