China-US Youth Research, Mentorship and Exchange Partnership
AmCham China invites you to a joint presentation by the All-China Youth Federation (ACYF中华全国青年联合会) and MetLife on the China-US Youth Research, Mentorship and Exchange (RME) Partnership Program, which was carried out for the first time in the summer of 2011 with great success.
The program is a pilot project under the general exchange between China and the US. In May 2010, the US-China High-Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange was established. The two chairs are US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and Chinese State Councilor Liu Yandong. In January 2011, during President Obama and President Hu's meeting in Washington, the two countries signed a joint statement that says: "China and the United States have long supported deeper and broader people-to-people ties as part of a larger effort to build a cooperative partnership based on mutual respect and mutual benefit." In April 2011, the All-China Youth Federation was authorized as a member organization of the US-China High-Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange.
The China-US Youth RME Partnership will allow young students from both sides to participate in field visits and research in their selected fields, either guided by a mentor or by their own design. The presentation will explain the background and purpose of the program, and highlight the key activities of the summer project.
The program welcomes corporate participation.
