In China, the state is always at least a silent partner in any serious business venture. It is therefore very important to understand how the state (both the Party and government at every level of state power) operates internally – and how this state interacts with the economy – to develop a fully effective corporate strategy for China. The core features of the Chinese state, its engagement of the economy, and the significant implications for shaping corporate strategy form the focus of this presentation.
