On Friday, September 16, Mr. Li Qunying, Director of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Division, Department of Laws and Policy, General Administration of Customs (GAC), will give a briefing on the accomplishments and challenges of China Customs IPR protection.
GAC has won several awards for achievements in IPR protection, openness, and transparency in recent years, including one from the Global Anti-Counterfeiting Group in June 2011 as well as the World Customs Organization (WCO) Special Contribution Award for Cracking Down on Counterfeits and Piracy in 2007. Mr. Li will give an introduction to the China Customs IPR protection system, as well as discuss how enhanced cooperation with the international trade community could better leverage China Customs as an effective tool for IPR protection.
