AmCham China Education forum invites you to join the Smith School's EMBA FOR A DAY on May 17, 2020 at 9:00amand participate in a class simulation on Tesla: The Strategic Partnership for a New Gigafactoryin China, delivered by Anil K. Gupta, the Michael D. Dingman Chair in Strategy and Entrepreneurship for the University of Maryland's Smith School of Business.

The Chinese automotive market was a business environment much different from any that the Tesla-Panasonic partnership had previously experienced. Given the Chinese government's regulations, requirements, and incentives, what should be Tesla's growth strategy in the world's largest automotive market-China. Should Tesla continue its partnership with Panasonic in China or should it look to derive more potential benefits from other suppliers?

In this session, you'll experience an Executive MBA class simulation, learn more about our unique EMBA program and network with one of our alumni, Yu Tong, M.D. Ph.D., Head of Medical at Novartis Oncology China to find out how the Smith Executive MBA has been helping advance her career.

[ Smith Global Leadership EMBA Program ]

The University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business offers the Global Leadership EMBA in Beijing to provide China's future business leaders with a unique opportunity to learn from the Smith School's world-class faculty. The program has been running in China for 16 years. Like the Smith School's domestic Executive MBA program, the Executive MBA that is delivered on Beijing campus prepares graduates to lead organizations in an economy fueled by innovation, globalization and an ever-changing market.

The accelerated 18-month program will bring students to Beijing campus once a month for a 4-day class weekend (Thursday-Sunday) with our world class faculty being flown in monthly to deliver the same Executive MBA curriculum and experience, in English, as in the US program but with a fair amount of China-relevance business cases. Every graduate will receive a University of Maryland's original MBA degree diploma endorsed by Ministry of Education, China.
