We invite you to participate in this year's B.I.O trip to Henan province. This trip is designed to offer members a deeper insight into the development and potential business opportunities of Henan province. This trip, in collaboration with Henan provincial government, will run from September 24 to September 26 in Zhengzhou.
Highlights of the trip:
- Exclusive meeting with Henan provincial leaders on September 24 (TBC).
- Policy briefing on the latest development of Henan and the province's effort to improve the business environment.
- Joining 2024 Cooperation and Exchange Conference between Henan and Multinational Corporations "2024 河南与跨国公司合作交流会" on the morning of September 25, followed by a range of industry-specific side-events in the afternoon (subject to change).
- Roundtable Meeting on Modern Medicine Industry "现代医药产业圆桌对接会" (Co-organized by AmCham China)
- Roundtable Meeting on Food Industry "食品产业圆桌对接会"
- Roundtable Meeting on New Energy Industry "新能源产业圆桌对接会"
- Meeting with local government departments, international organizations, and industry associations in abovementioned activities, including Henan Provincial Department of Commerce, Henan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Henan Provincial Health Commission, Zhengzhou Municipal Government, Zhengzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, Luohe Municipal Government, UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office (Beijing), China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, etc.
- Field trips organized by Henan Provincial Government on September 26 (optional).
Members are highly encouraged to sign up as early as possible, given that spots are limited. Registrations will be granted on a first-come-first-serve basis. Although there is no strict seniority requirement, it is recommended for companies to send at least one senior-level representative (e.g., VP or above), which will be helpful for scheduling senior official engagements.
Important Notice:
- As we are in discussion with Henan provincial government to finalize the trip details, the trip itinerary issubject to change, based on local officials' availability, weather, and other factors.
- The deadline for registration is September 17.
- Please note that payment should be made at least 5 working days before the trip to secure your spot.No other fees are required to be paid to AmCham China except for the registration charge. You will be responsible for booking and paying for your own airline/train tickets and hotels. No refund will be provided after September 17.

Michael Hart
President at AmCham China
Michael Hart is President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China based in Beijing. He has over twenty-five years of business experience in Asia, including nineteen years in mainland China.
As President, Michael oversees all advocacy, programs, partnerships, and insights provided by the Chamber to support the business growth of nearly 900 foreign corporations operating in China, including most of the U.S. Fortune 500. The chamber’s advocacy includes the impressive American Business in China White Paper and Business Climate Survey each published annually as well as numerous interactions with both the US and Chinese governments on behalf of our members.
Prior to joining AmCham China, Michael spent most of his career in commercial real estate in Taipei, Shanghai and Tianjin including almost 20 years for a NYSE listed property services firm. He started in the research division briefing real estate owners, occupiers and investors on transactions and macro trends, he then opened, built, and led a branch office for the company in one of China’s largest Tier 1.5 cities for over a decade. Following this, Michael opened a private consulting and investment firm that among other projects invested in quick service restaurants.
In addition to this work, Michael was a long-term AmCham member and served on the Tianjin chapter’s Executive Committee for nearly 15 years including several terms as the local Chairman.
Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on finance and banking from the University of Missouri-Columbia in the U.S. He is a fluent speaker of mandarin Chinese. Michael was born and raised near Kansas City, Missouri.
