AmCham China would like to invite you to our 37th Annual General Meeting & Dinner Banquet at the Waldorf Astoria Beijing (北京华尔道夫酒店) located in the historic Wangfujing area on the evening of Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

2018 has not been a quiet year! As a result, AmCham China would like to celebrate our thriving leadership in advocating for American businesses in an increasingly more complex US-China relationship amid ongoing trade tensions, converting bold ideas to reality as we highlight the American advantage in technology and innovation, deepen our commitment to the Chinese people through our thought leadership forums on talent, women, and CSR activities, and launch reforms of the governance of AmCham China to become a more effective and engaging platform. Above all, we want to celebrate you - our members - the true heroes behind these remarkable stories!

This year, all of our members will have the opportunity to meet the candidates running for our 2019 Board of Governors and test their ambitions and willingness to serve the community. Voting will be arranged onsite for voting members.

Together, we will also look to the future as we enter the 100th year of our heritage in China in 2019, and announce our Campaign for the Next 100 Years of AmCham China!

About the venue | The distinctive Waldorf Astoria hotel in Wangfujing is a located on the original site of the Xianliang Temple, first built in the Ming Dynasty and later used as the residence of provincial governors when they came to Beijing to report to the imperial court in both the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The Chinese scholar trees at the front entrance welcomed and bid farewell to America's friends, including the Qing Dynasty's leading statesman, Governor-General Li Hung-Chang, who made strenuous efforts to modernize his country through projects in commerce and industry, while also serving as the country's chief diplomat to conduct China's relations with Western powers. Governor-General Li was also the first senior Chinese official to visit the United States, welcomed by President Ulysses S. Grant in New York.

As an organization that is committed to advancing US-China relations, representing businesses that contribute tremendously to China's modernization, and building ties with the people of China, we are excited to see the members of the AmCham China community at this year's AGM as we reflect together on the past 12 months.
