Nassrin Afnan is a successful artist. The recipient of numerous prestigious sponsorships, she has had her work exhibited in an impressive array of institutions. In 2016, her solo exhibition of some 130 paintings at Prince Kung’s Mansion was sponsored by the Ministry of Culture. Other sponsors of her shows have included organisations such as UN Women, EU Delegation, the local government of TEDA and the Embassy of Germany in China. As well as in private galleries, Nassrin’s works have been exhibited at the Military Museum of People’s Revolution in Beijing, Nanning Museum, the Crossroads Art Centre in Beijing, and the 1984 arts centre in TEDA. Just like the famous artist Wassily Kandinsky, whose influence is evident in her works, Nassrin was a lawyer before becoming a full time artist.
Fiona Yu, founder of the Nasca Linien arts center and associated brands, has had career in business management spanning years, in both domestic and international trade with investment companies in China and abroad. At the same time Fiona turned her creative talent to founding the Nasca Arts Centre, which has allowed her to combine her considerable business experience with her passion for the promotion of visual arts. Due to the back ground of Chinese and Western combination in business, as a curator she concerns more about the cultural and art exchanges. In Nasca Linien Art Centre Fiona has curated numerous exhibitions for international artists. Most recently, she will curate the “Travelers” show, a solo exhibition of Nasrin Afnan from Nov. 25 to Dec 3rd.
