Dr. Kai-Fu Lee is the Chairman and CEO of Sinovation Ventures and President of Sinovation Venture’s Artificial Intelligence Institute. Sinovation Ventures, managing US$1.7 billion dual currency investment funds, is a leading venture capital firm focusing on developing the next generation of Chinese high-tech companies. Prior to founding Sinovation in 2009, Dr. Lee was the President of Google China. Previously, he held executive positions at Microsoft, SGI, and Apple. Dr. Lee received his Bachelor degree from Computer Science from Columbia University, Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, as well as Honorary Doctorate Degrees from both Carnegie Mellon and the City University of Hong Kong. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). While with Apple, Dr. Lee led AI projects in speech and natural language, which have been featured on Good Morning America on ABC Television and the front page of Wall Street Journal. He has authored 10 U.S. patents, and more than 100 journal and conference papers. Altogether, Dr. Lee has been in artificial intelligence research, development, and investment for more than 30 years.

From the year 2015 to 2016, Dr. Xu was the General Manager of Microsoft Azure Group, Microsoft China, overseeing Microsoft Azure business in China. Dr. Xu joined Microsoft High-Performance Computing (HPC) team in the US at its inception in 2004 and managed a global team spanning Redmond and Shanghai to accomplish the development of Windows Compute Cluster 2003 and Window HPC Server 2008. In 2008, Dr. Xu returned to Shanghai and worked as Principal Architect, to lead China HPC team in building deep expertise around parallel computing runtime system, programming pattern, design and development of management and user portal.

Prior to Microsoft, Dr. Xu served as Principal Architect of Platform Computing, the leading cluster computing software vendor, between 1996 and 2004. From 1993 to 1995, Dr. Xu focused on parallel language compilation and support system research, and pursued his post doctorate studies at the Argonne National Laboratory.

Dr. Xu holds a PhD degree of Computer Science from University of Exeter, United Kingdom. In addition, he used to work as Research Assistant in the University of Manchester.

Jerry Cristoforo is executive vice president and chief technology officer for State Street Corporation. Additionally,
he is vice chairman of State Street Zhejiang Technology Company (SSHZ), where he pioneered State Street's
partnership with Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China in 2000. SSHZ has grown to more than 3,000 staff
members working exclusively on State Street software development, production support and global asset
servicing business processes.

Mr. Cristoforo is also a co-founder and board member of Hengtian Ltd, a joint venture between State Street and
Insigma Corporation. Hengtian has grown to more than 1,700 staff members providing financial technology
services to global and mainland China financial institutions.

Mr. Cristoforo serves as the vice director of the Zhejiang University Blockchain Research Center. He is also a
senior advisor to the China Foreign Exchange Trading Center (CFETS), an adjunct professor at the Zhejiang
University College of Software Engineering. In 2012, he published a book in co-operation with the Shanghai
Finance University on “Proposals for Reform of China’s Pension System.”

Mr. Cristoforo is a senior computer/securities industry executive with in-depth technology and management
experience in advanced distributed systems architecture, product development, workflow re-engineering, largescale
systems integration, and project management.

In 2008, he received an honorary degree in Chinese language proficiency from the Zhejiang University
International College of Education. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from Northeastern
University and has served as Master Lecturer in the computer science department of Boston University.

Mr. Zhu most recently joined Cisco China to lead collaboration & architecture team to drive the business across Greater China area.
Prior to Cisco China, he had been working with Avaya China, VMWare China, Shanghai BizConf Telecom and served as product manager, senior manager, director, vice president. And he also helped Bizconf to go IPO in China Stock Market.

Outside working, he enjoys hiking and keep running a few kilometers every morning.

Terry Crawford is the Chief Executive Officer and a co-founder of InitialView.

Terry graduated from the University of Virginia and the University of Michigan Law School. After practicing mergers & acquisitions as a private equity lawyer at Davis Polk & Wardwell and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in Hong Kong, New York, and Beijing, he founded InitialView.

One of his first successes was convincing his wife Gloria that she needed to be a co-founder. InitialView has been a part of over 150,000 applications from students in over 100 countries to over 300 selective academic programs. It has become a critical part of the application process at many of the most selective colleges in the US.

Recently InitialView has begun to capitalize upon its relationships with top US universities to build the first job platform connecting US-based Chinese students with top opportunities in China.

Terry and Gloria live in Beijing with their three kids, all of whom attend local elementary and middle schools--and who speak much better Chinese than their parents.

Jinghui joined Deere & Company Headquarters in 1998 as Project Manager, Overseas Division, and was relocated to Xinjiang, China as General Manager from July 1999 through June 2000. After that he was appointed as Senior Marketing Manager of John Deere Jialian Combine Harvester Co., Ltd in Jiamusi, China in June 2000 and then General Manager in June 2001 in the same capacity, and General Manager in John Deere Tiantuo Company Ltd from June 2005 to January 2006. In November 2003 he was assigned as General Manager, China Marketing in Beijing, China till Jul 2008. After that Jinghui accepted an expatriate assignment at the Lenexa Agricultural Marketing Center to undertake a variety of senior level assignments within the North American Marketing organization. In Jul 2009, he returned to John Deere China Operations as Director, Sales and Marketing China. Then he holds the position as Director, Sales and Marketing China, with full responsibilities for sales, marketing, channel development, aftermarket support and profit maximization of all products, both JV products and imported products for three years.


Jinghui graduated from Tsinghua University with Bachelor Degree in Thermal Engineering in July 1984, and got Master Degree in Automotive Engineering in July 1987. In June 1999, he was granted Master of Business Administration degree at J. L. Kllogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.

Sarah Keenlyside is the founder and managing director of Bespoke Travel. She began her professional career as a journalist, first as an investigative reporter at The Sunday Times newspaper in London, then moving to China in 2005 to help set up Time Out's first English language publication there. After writing and contributing to a handful of guidebooks about China, she became a source for friends and contacts looking to experience the country like an insider. It was at this point (post Beijing Olympics) that she had the idea to set up Bespoke Travel Company.

Initially a one-woman outfit, the business has grown to employ dozens of tour guides, experts, drivers and in-house tour planners. Dr. Fang Jin is a Board Member and Deputy Secretary General of China Development Research Foundation and also a research fellow at the Development Research Center (DRC) of the State Council, People’s Republic of China. His main area of research is China’s economic relations with the outside world. He has written extensively on China’s foreign economic policy, globalization and world economy. Before joining DRC, Dr. Fang had worked in the corporate sector for many years. He holds a Doctoral degree from School of Economics, Peking University and a Master Degree and a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University in Australia. He also spent one semester at Harvard Kennedy School as a visiting fellow. He has published one book on the causes of U.S. financial crisis and another book on the rise of emerging market economies. Professor Mei Luo is Director of research center for digital financial assets, and associate professor at the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. Professor Mei Luo teaches Financial Statement Analysis and Equity Valuation, and received the teaching award of top 5% teachers of Tsinghua University. Prior to Tsinghua, she taught at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and worked in asset management at Mellon Capital Management.

Her research interests include financial accounting and capital market, and recently blockchain and cryptocurrency, particularly valuation of cryptocurrency, accounting and taxation of cryptocurrency. Her research has been covered in the front page of the Wall Street Journal. She has published in top academic journals like Review of Accounting Studies, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, and top Chinese research journals. She also served on the evaluation committee of National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Professor Luo serves on the independent board of directors at several firms in China and HongKong, including Canaan.
