Organized by the Legal Committee and the Healthcare Committee of AmCham China, the Policy Interpretation Workshop on Healthcare Industry Compliance Management aims to provide valuable discussions and talks concerning the regulations of anti-corruption and medical compliance in the healthcare industry in China and the United States. Xueqian Zheng, Vice President of China Health Law Society and Ping An, of counsel of Covington & Burling LLP are invited to share their knowledge and expertise regarding:

    Zheng Xueqian was the 2020 Rule of Law Person of the Year. She is the Vice President of the China Health Law Society, the Honorary Chairwoman of the Medical Law Committee of the Chinese Hospital Association, the Policy and Legal Consulting Expert of the Department of Medical Administration, Law and Legislation, and other Departments of the National Health Commission, a member of the Expert Advisory Committee of the Legal Affairs Office of the Beijing Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, the Vice President of the Beijing Medical-Patient Harmony Promotion Association, a part-time professor at China University of Political Science and Law, Dalian Medical University, etc., a distinguished researcher at the International Medical Law Research Center of the Law School of Shanghai University, and the Director of Beijing Huawei Law Firm.
    She has participated in the research and legislative discussions of the State Council, the Legal Affairs Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the National Health Commission, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, the Beijing Municipal Hospital Management Center, the Chinese Hospital Association, etc. She has participated in the editing of books such as the "Practical Guide to Chinese Hospital Laws and Regulations" series and "Expert Interpretation of the Physician Law of the People's Republic of China", and has published more than 100 articles in domestic core journals.

Ping has particular expertise in handling risk and compliance program assessments, third-party audits and assessments, and compliance advisory in the life sciences industry. With experience working with over half of the top 20 global pharmaceutical and medical devices companies on anti-corruption compliance and cross-border commercial transactions, Ping has accumulated a considerable body of knowledge of life sciences companies’ risk profiles and industry best practices in China. Prior to joining Covington, Ping was a senior counsel at another multinational law firm in Shanghai that focused on compliance and cross-border litigation and was a trial lawyer in California. Ping received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University, and his B.A. from University of California, San Diego.
