Each spring the Asia-Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC) holds a two-day business conference to discuss the main issues facing American business in the Asia-Pacific region along with in-depth examination of specific industry issues of critical importance to APCAC members.
This year's conference, coordinated by the American Chamber of Commerce in Taipei, takes place on March 21-22, 2013 at the Grand Hyatt Taipei. The theme of this year's conference will be "A 2020 Vision for US-Asia Partnership." Besides luncheon speeches both days, the program will include panel discussions on such topics as green energy, industry, and buildings; how free-trade agreements and regional trade agreements are changing the economic landscape; the impact of aging society and rapid changes of medical technologies; realigning regional supply chains; and protection of innovation and creativity in the new era. The APCAC board will also share its 2013 policy recommendations, and a number of US government officials from around the region will make presentations on the state of US trade and investment in their respective host countries.
