AmCham China invites you to a lunch presentation by Il Houng Lee, chief resident representative of the International Monetary Fund, who will provide a 2012 retrospective and 2013 forecast of China's macroeconomy. He will discuss the key challenges and risks of the Chinese economy in the short and medium term, analyze what's involved in economic rebalancing, and examine China's economic performance in an Asian regional context.
Dr. Lee joined the IMF through the Economist Program in 1989. Since then, he has worked in various departments, and his country assignments in Asia have included Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam. Before coming to China, he was an advisor in the Asia and Pacific Department working as the Mission Chief on the Philippines.
Lee has a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Ph.D. in Economics from Warwick University. He taught economics at Warwick University and at the National Economics University in Hanoi.
