    Partner; China Financial Services Consulting Leader, PwC

    James Chang is the Partner managing PwC China Financial Services Consulting Practice, leading teams to provide a variety of professional solutions – ranging from strategy, risk, finance, operations, IT to people and organisations - for leading clients in China’s banking, securities, insurance and investment management industries. Before returning to China in 2009, James was a Partner based in PwC New York office. Prior to PwC, he worked with several Wall Street investment houses such as J.P.Morgan and SLK (now part of Goldman Sachs). James graduated from the Stern School of Business, New York University with an MBA degree. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Certified Public Account (CPA) of New York State. James also completed the LPSF (Leading Professional Service Firms) Executive Training Program from the Harvard Business School.

    James is a frequent speaker at various financial conferences, seminars and symposiums, delivering speeches on topics such as financial transformation, internet finance and financial technology (FinTech), green finance, financial inclusions as well as global financial regulatory reforms. In 2016, James represented PwC as the Knowledge Partner for the B20 Financing Growth Taskforce to produce policy recommendation report for the 2016 G20 Summit, a majority of these policy recommendations are reflected in the official 2016 G20 Hangzhou Summit Communiqué.

    Dean, JD Finance Research Institute

    Dr. Meng is a graduate of the National University of Singapore and has over ten years of research experience in e-commerce, telecommunication, corporate management, and information systems. She has numerous research reports published in China Daily, the Harvard Business Review, Peking University Business Review, and other notable publications. She has been featured in an exclusive CCTV interview, and her book Management Economics has been used as teaching material by many of the top MBA programs. Before working at JD Fintech Institute, Dr. Meng was Chief Economist and vice dean of Tencent Research Institute, the director of Deloitte TMT Center of Excellence, research leader of Accenture Institute of High Performance, chief researcher of Samsung Economics Research Institute, and assistant professor at the Renmin University of China.
    Dr. Meng lead the project “Digital China Index”, which use billions of users’ whole sample real time data to measure the adoption of mobile internet in 31 provinces and 351 cities in China. “Digital China Index” include whole sample data of core products of Tencent, JD, Ctrip, Didi, Meituan, Dianping, and reflects the real time.

    Associate Professor of Accounting, CKGSB

    Dr. Zhang Weining is an Associate Professor of Accounting at CKGSB. He received his Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2010. Before joining CKGSB in 2012, Dr. Zhang served as a faculty member at the Business School of National University of Singapore. His research interests include financial analyses, corporate disclosure, investor relationship management, corporate governance, internet platform business, and strategic financial management. He also works with Development Research Center of the State Council of China and Energy Fund of US on research projects.
