    Head of China, The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN)

    Zheng joined ICANN in October 2013. As a member of the global stakeholder engagement team, he coordinates implementation of ICANN's strategic plan for China and is responsible for engagement with all stakeholders, including governments, internet communities and private sectors in the country. He has more than 20 years' experience in working for and with the Chinese government and international organizations.
    Before joining ICANN, Zheng was the Director of Yuan Associates, providing consulting service on government affairs to Fortune 500 companies and world renowned international organizations.
    Before working as a consultant, Zheng worked for China's Ministry of Commerce and Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of Chinese Embassy in Washington, DC. As a specialist in the area of trade policy, he has a long track record of working to overcome international trade disputes and related issues. He also participated in the Sino-US Joint Committee for Commerce and Trade (JCCT) and the Strategic Economic Dialogue (SED) as liaison officer.
    Zheng graduated from the University of International Business and Economics with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics in 1996. He also holds an MBA Degree from the Economy Management School of Tsinghua University (2000-2003).

    XU, Peixi (Patrick) is Associate Professor at the Communication University of China (CUC), Beijing. He has obtained a Doctoral Degree from CUC and a Licentiate Degree from University of Tampere, Finland. His research interests include Global Communication, Internet Policy, Cybersecurity, and the ICANN/UNGGE processes. The courses he teaches in English in China and abroad include Global Communication, Media in Asia, Media Analysis, and Communication Studies.

    Jian-Chuan Zhang, Ph.D., is Director of Policy and Public Affairs and Senior Research Fellow in the Internet Domain Name System (Beijing) Engineering Research Center (ZDNS). He also serves as Research Fellow in the Academy of Public Policy at Renmin University of China, member of Cyberspace Governance Innovation, member of American Society for Public Administration (ASPA). Before joining in ZDNS, he has served as department director and assistant director general of the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC). Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D. in Public Administration from Northern Illinois University. Before that, he received LLB in Political Science from Southwest University and MA in Public Management from Renmin University of China.
    Dr. Zhang has been actively involved in ICANN activities such as GNSO, IANA Stewardship Working Group (CWG), IDN Working Group and ccNSO. His involvement in Internet Governance initiatives can be traced back to WSIS in 2003 and 2005. He also participated in a few Sino-US high level inter-governmental dialogues such as the Sino-US Telecommunication Summit and China-US Internet Roundtable. Dr. Zhang’s research interests include international and comparative e-governance, Internet Governance, Smart City, and Internet of Things (IoT). He has published around thirty journal articles, book chapters and management/research reports in China and abroad. His interview has been covered by such main-stream media as CircleID, CCTV, GUANG Ming Daily, Sina, Net Ease, Tencent Research Institute, etc.

Terms and Conditions

Attending an Event
Events have limited seating, so to ensure your attendance we encourage advance online registration and payment for ALL events. We cannot guarantee entry to anyone not registered in advance.
Most of our events are in English and off the record, but please check the webpage for each event to avoid disappointment.

Advance Tickets and Discounts
Members can receive a discount by purchasing an advance ticket at least 24 hours before the day of the event. You must pay online at the time of registering for the event to be eligible for a discount.
Discounts will not be available to members at the door.

Receipts (fapiao)
You can receive your fapiao when you arrive for an event provided that you buy an advance ticket and pay online at least 1 working day before the event and you provide the correct information for your fapiao at that time. You can leave details of the type of fapiao you need on the registration and payment page.
 
Event attendees can request a fapiao at the door or up to two months after the event. Requests made after that time will not be accommodated. Please contact the AmCham China staff member responsible for organizing your event.
 
Cancellation Policy
If you cannot attend an event for which you have registered, please cancel your registration no later than one business day prior to the event. If you fail to notify AmCham China of your cancellation in a timely fashion, you will forfeit the fee you have already paid.

To cancel you can: 1) cancel directly online through the Eventbank platform on which you registered or 2) contact the AmCham China staff member responsible for organizing your event.
