Wuhan Eastlake Free Trade Zone (WEFTZ), the only one located in China's National Innovation Model Zone, was approved by the State Council in 2011. WEFTZ is a region under Customs' special supervision, integrating all the functions of bonded zones, export processing zones, bonded logistics parks and ports. It is one of the most open functional zones in Central China, with very favorable policies and comprehensive offerings. Its development is closely related to the strategic pilot plans for the development of Central China and Wuhan.
