    William Zarit

    Chairman, AmCham China

    William Zarit serves as Senior Counselor at The Cohen Group, a global business advisory firm founded by former U.S. Senator and Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen. He advises major Chinese companies on how to navigate the U.S. investment market, and helps U.S. multinationals working in the Chinese commercial environment. Prior to his current position, William was working as Minister for Commercial Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, Deputy Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Commercial Service, U.S. Commercial Service’s Regional Director for East Asia/Pacific, Senior Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Deputy Senior Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, and Deputy Senior Commercial Officer at the American Institute in Taiwan. He earned an MBA with Honors from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA with Honors in Political Science from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.

  • Alan Beebe (President, AmCham China)

    Alan Beebe

    President, AmCham China

    Alan Beebe was appointed President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China on Mar. 14, 2016.

    Alan was an Executive Director based in Beijing, leading EY China’s Cleantech and Supply Chain and Operations (SC&O) practices. His clients include major global corporations, primarily diversified industrials and high-technology companies operating in China.

    Prior to joining EY, Alan held Executive positions with the China Greentech Initiative (CGTI), IBM, and management consulting firms AT Kearney and PRTM. He has twenty years of management consulting experience in the US, China and other Asian countries helping clients develop and implement sound business, operations and technology strategies. At EY China, he helps global clients transform their business models to drive new revenue opportunities and preserve profitability in China’s changing economic climate.

    From 2010 to 2013, Alan was a Managing Director with CGTI, a collaboration platform serving over 50 international energy and environmental companies. At CGTI, he led advisory services and strategic research across all major areas of energy and cleantech. In 2014, CGTI merged with the Paulson Institute, founded by Hank Paulson.

    Alan holds a Master’s degree from Yale University in International Relations and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Computer Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the United States. He is a Board of Advisor of the Yale Club of Beijing and in that capacity promotes academic and cultural exchanges between the United States and China. Alan has lived in China since 2002 and speaks Chinese fluently.

    Lester Ross

    Partner, Wilmer Hale

    As Vice-Chair of the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce – People's Republic of China (AmCham) and Chair of its Policy Committee and Insurance Forum, Les Ross is a longstanding leader of the American business and legal communities in China and in frequent contact with government officials and other stakeholders.

    Mr. Ross concentrates his practice on mergers and acquisitions and regulatory matters and has experience in a broad range of industries. He has represented both foreign and local companies and has particular experience advising foreign companies on competition law and regulatory compliance in China.

    Mr. Ross represents foreign companies in their strategic expansion in China through direct investments and mergers and acquisitions in industries ranging alphabetically from agriculture to water services. He also has extensive experience representing foreign banks and corporations, including Chinese entities, in their strategic expansion in the United States, particularly focusing on M&A and regulatory clearances and compliance. He has also represented clients in trade, dispute resolution and regulatory matters in China.

    Managing Director and Vice Chairman, Asia Pacific, JP Morgan Chase

    Jing Ulrich is Managing Director and Vice Chairman of Asia Pacific at JPMorgan Chase. Jing works with all lines of business at JPMorgan Chase to foster greater cross-border collaboration and strengthen senior client relationships in Asia Pacific and the rest of the world.

    She has been ranked four times as one of Fortune Magazine's 50 Most Powerful Global Businesswomen and been dubbed as "the unofficial voice of China" and the "Oprah Winfrey of the investment world.” Global institutional investors regularly voted her the best China strategist in polls conducted by Institutional Investor, Asiamoney, and Euromoney. Before joining J.P. Morgan, Ms. Ulrich was a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank and CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets, as well as a fund manager to focus on the Greater China markets in the US.

    She obtained her education both from Harvard University and Stanford University.

    Principal, Bain and Company

    Yin Chen is a Principal in Bain & Company's Shanghai office. He has advised clients throughout the Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas having worked in Bain’s San Francisco, London and Hong Kong offices.

    He is a senior member of Bain's global Industrial Goods & Services practice advising clients across a range of sectors including automotive, chemicals, business services, consumer products and technology. He helps clients tackle a broad range of strategic topics from growth strategy, commercial excellence, digital innovation and Results Delivery.

    Yin graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with BS in Business Administration and a BA in Political Economy of Industrial Societies. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

    Mark Duval

    President, Terex Greater China

    Mark Duval is the President of Terex Greater China where he is responsible for managing overall P&L, joint ventures, manufacturing operations, and global sourcing for the Fortune 500 Company.

    Mark served as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in the People's Republic of China from May 2013 to January 2016. He has been based in China since 1996, where for over 16 years he led in a variety of leadership roles Motorola China corporate strategy, operations and business development, public policy and government relations, communications and public affairs, crisis management, and go‐to‐market operations.

    Mark has a BSc. from the University of KwaZulu‐Natal and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin‐Milwaukee.

    Stephen Shih

    Partner, Bain and Company

    Stephen Shih is a partner in Bain & Company's Beijing office. He is a senior member of Bain's global Industrial Goods & Services practice. He also leads Bain China's Organization practice.

    Stephen advises clients across a range of sectors related to industrial and commercial equipment, resources and energy, automotive, consumer and business services and technology. He has substantial experience with growth strategy, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and customer and marketing strategies.

    Stephen has applied his consulting expertise globally with Bain, having worked in Bain's Boston and Hong Kong offices. He also leads Bain's Asia-Pacific recruiting efforts.

    He is active in the Beijing community, leading Bain's China Business Climate Survey partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce in China and serving as a Senior Practitioner Adviser at Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management.

    Stephen graduated from Princeton University with an AB in Economics, magna cum laude. He holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where he graduated as a Carter Fellow.
