Mental health is an important part of overall health for both adults and children. For many adults who have mental disorders, symptoms were present—but often not recognized or addressed—in childhood and adolescence.
Teenagers are facing increasing stress and competition at school, high parental expectations, and rapidly changing socio-economic conditions. Mental health conditions are a major burden of disease for adolescents. The COVID-19 epidemic has also led to adolescents and young adults feeling more isolated, anxious, and concerned about their schooling and career prospects. Compared to adults, young people tend not to seek help for mental health problems due to fears about confidentiality and public stigma; peer pressure and a desire to be self-reliant; and a lack of awareness of mental health problems and mental health services.
AmCham China, Tianjin Education Committee and Women Professionals Committee are pleased to invite Ms. Chen Xiuru, Director of Tianjin Family Education Guidance Centre, Ms. Tina Tian, Director of Counseling and Mental Health of The Tianjin Juilliard School, and Ms. Wang Xin, Mental Health Counselor of Admiral Farragut Academy Tianjin to help you and your family overcome various stressful life, to get young people the mental health and well-being support that they need.
Please join us to enjoy the delicious dinner after the workshop, having fun and mingling with AmCham China community.
