Introduction

In 2025's highly competitive workplace, professional skills alone aren't cutting it for engineers. While their strength lies in deep product and tech knowledge, many engineers and technical staff struggle to communicate their ideas confidently and clearly, which hinders their career growth and affects the company's competitiveness. This course is tailor-made for engineers and tech professionals. It aims to help engineers build a solid communication foundation, solve common communication challenges, and drive workplace success; and to help companies unlock the multi-faceted potential of technical teams to amplify customer influence and drive sales growth. This training is not about theory; it's hands-on, practical, and will make visible improvement on-site.

Part Two: Breakthrough @ Four Difficult Communication Scenarios for Engineers

· Technical communication with non-technical personnel

o Transform the communication mindset: from "I am the expert" to "help you understand"

o Dealing with people with different personalities

o Exercise 1: communication with people with different personalities

o Master expression techniques: Pyramid principle and MECE principles

o Use aids: diagrams, examples, tangible objects, etc.

o Improve Impact: using storytelling techniques

o Exercise 2: technical communication with non-technical personnel

· Communication with people in power (superior and customer)

o Breaking the"inner demons" of upward communication: inferiority and narcissism

o General guidelines for upward communication

o Public presentation the "VIBE" technique

o Exercise 3: public presentation

o Asking for resources: negotiation skills at work and "elevator speech"

o Homework: elevator speech

o Online communication: tips for instant message

· Persuasive communication to deal with resistance

o Get to Know the person you want to persuade

o Analyze the reasons behind the resistance

o Find incentives for changes

o Exercise 4: persuasive communication

· Cross-cultural communication

o Language barriers: simplification of complex expressions

o Sensitive topics: follow the two-way requirements for the topic proposer and the topic recipient

o Cultural differences: identify the underlying reasons behind cultural differences from four dimensions

o Exercise 5: draw a "cultural map".
