The ongoing global pandemic has cast much uncertainty for 2020, an important year for the Chinese government to reach several economic targets and achieve the goal of "entering a moderately prosperous society." The Two Sessions, which are traditionally scheduled in March each year for political advisors and legislators from across the country to review the government's annual work and set the policy agenda for the year ahead, have been postponed.
With no official date set and the 20th Party Congress approaching, many are looking for signals around top-level policy design and possible Chinese leadership transitions. We are happy to have Sean Ding and Chucheng Feng of Plenum China (previously known as GRisk) to virtually brief the Policy+ group on Chinese elite politics on Friday, April 17, 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Beijing time.
Plenum is a China-based political risk consulting firm that specializes in policy analysis, macroeconomic research, and global knowledge management with offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong and Washington, DC. They are a Policy+ partner, providing the monthly Bureaucratic Personnel Tracker and previously spoke with our group last April.
To sign up, please click "register" above and RSVP by 2:00 PM, April 13 (Monday). Conference access information can be located in the confirmation email you receive from Eventbank. If you have any questions, please email Chloe Ma at cma@amchamchina.org.
