The Two Sessions play a critical role in understanding the direction of China's governance and policy focus for the coming year, including areas such as financial services, insurance, investment policy and Automotive industry. This time, we will invite the two economists from KKR and Citi, will share their insights from financial aspects, and we will also invite experts from PwC to analyze what will affect the Automotive industry.


Instead of the unilaterally keynote speech, this event will be an online panel discussion, all the audience could bring up questions and share their thoughts of two sessions policy. it is a great chance to fully discussed with experts and peers in the same industry.     Changchun Hua

    Managing Director, Chief Economist for Greater China of KKR

    Changchun Hua joined KKR in 2021 and is a member of the Global Macro, Balance Sheet and Risk team, serving as the Chief Economist for Greater China. Prior to joining KKR, he was the global chief economist of GTJA Securities Research Institute, China economist at Nomura International (Hong Kong), an economist at the International Monetary Fund in the Hong Kong office, a manager at Hong Kong Monetary Authority and a researcher at Asia Development Bank Institute in Japan. He specializes in public economics and finance and obtained his Ph.D. in Public Policy (Public Economics) from Hitotsubashi University of Japan, his M.A. in Economics from Renmin University of China, an M.P.P. from Hitotsubashi University of Japan, and a B.A. in Economic Management from Yanshan University in China.

    Chris Torrens, APCO’s managing director of the Greater China region, is a veteran risk and compliance expert with more than three decades of experience providing strategic advice for multinational clients across various sectors.

    Before joining APCO, Chris worked at Control Risks for more than 20 years, where he served as partner in the Greater China and North Asia region. During this period, he oversaw the growth and diversification of the company’s Chinese client base. Before this role, Chris was based in London as the partner responsible for the Global Risk Analysis practice for Europe, Middle East and Africa, managing all political, security and operational risk analysis for the region.

    Chris also served as a Shanghai-based associate director in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ advisory practice and as the Hong Kong-based head of research at Batey Burn, a UK government relations and public affairs consultancy acquired by APCO in 1999.

    Chris has lived in Greater China for nearly 25 years. He holds an MBA from the China-Europe International Business School, a BA Honours degree in Modern Chinese Studies from Leeds University and speaks Mandarin. The Economist published his book, “Doing Business in China,” in 2010.

    Head of Greater China Economics at Citi Research

    Xiangrong Yu is Citi’s Chief China Economist, based in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Citi in 2017, he was a China economist at China International Capital Corporation (CICC) for three years, advising institutional investors. Xiangrong’s earlier roles include economist positions at Hong Kong Monetary Authority and International Monetary Fund.
    Xiangrong is a consistently top-ranked China economist. He was ranked No. 1 for Asia (ex-Japan) Economics research in the Institutional Investor (II) Global Fixed-Income Survey in 2023 and 2022. He was No. 2 for Economics research in the II All-Asia Survey in 2023, No. 3 in 2022 and 2021, and runner-up (ranked No. 4) in 2020 and 2019. He was part of the economics team top-ranked in the II All-China Survey in 2016 and 2015. Xiangrong was awarded Best Renminbi Bonds Research Individual by The Asset magazine in 2023.
    Xiangrong holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He earned his M.A. and B.A., both in economics, from Peking University. Xiangrong has been frequently cited by international and Chinese media, and his academic work has appeared in leading journals.
