Event Details

As the global landscape continues to evolve, students and families face growing uncertainty when planning for overseas education. Geopolitical shifts, rising costs, changing job markets, and the rapid development of AI are reshaping study destinations and major choices. These changes also raise a deeper question: what truly defines a meaningful education today, and how can we best prepare children to thrive in an increasingly complex and uncertain future? On April 17, the AmCham China Education Committee will hold a webinar to explore the evolving landscape of education in a rapidly changing world.

  • Part 1: Overseas Study Trends and Education Choices [CN] – Speakers will provide an overview of the latest global study trends, including changes in international student mobility and shifting destination preferences. Drawing on industry data, admissions insights, and real-world counseling experience, speakers will also explain what universities are increasingly looking for in applicants today, how students can better understand their strengths, interests, and long-term goals, and how families can approach overseas study planning in a more strategic and balanced way.
  • Part 2: The Whole Child Education [EN] – The speaker will discuss whole child education, broadening the concept of success beyond academics and emphasizing the importance of measuring what truly matters—especially in the age of AI. He will share examples from both international schools in China and other contexts, highlighting how families and schools can collaborate to support holistic student development.
