U.S. Chamber / AmCham China - Annual China Business Conference

May 8-10, 2023

U.S. Chamber of Commerce

Washington, D.C.

Overview

The China Business Conference is the premier forum for exchanging ideas on U.S.-China economic and commercial relations, including economic, political, and regulatory developments affecting American business in China. The annual event brings together business leaders, public officials, and policy experts to discuss critical issues in the relationship and shape the bilateral policy agenda.

The 13th Annual Conference

This year's conference will open with a welcome reception on the evening of May 8, followed by substantive panels over two days on May 9 and 10 covering the full suite of issues weighing on bilateral relations, including:

  • PRC domestic politics
  • The state of the post 'Zero-Covid' Chinese economy
  • Commercial opportunities and regulatory challenges for US business in China
  • Decoupling, supply chain resilience, and industrial policy
  • Technology competition and related policy questions in the areas of AI, bioeconomy, quantum, and semiconductors
  • The potential, and shortcomings, of allied cooperation vis-ร -vis China
  • A broad array of pressing national security issues, including Taiwan, Russia, and human rights
  • Reputational and other risks of doing business in China

In light of persistent global economic challenges, growing calls for US-China decoupling, and challenging politics in both countries, we expect the content of this year's conference to be rich, and participation to be exceptionally robust.
