VII Standard for Auto Emission

The State Council issued a comprehensive work plan for energy conservation and emission reduction during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, which clearly stated that it would study and formulate emission standards for light duty vehicles and heavy duty vehicles and fuel quality standards for the next stage. From the national vehicle emission standard I in 2001 to the standard VI in 2021, it took 20 years to upgrade the domestic emission standard, while the European and American countries for 30 years. At present, the preparatory work of the NATIONAL VII emission Standard has begun. From the perspective of greenhouse gases, energy conservation and emission reduction, the VII standard will have stricter emission supervision standards in the future, and the emission limits of pollutants will be more stringent. The upgrade of motor vehicle emission standards is the power and pressure for the development and reform of automobile technology and the low-carbon development of the traditional automobile industry. It should not only meet the requirements of environmental emission standards, but also take into account the maximum optimization balance of the market and users.

Therefore, the experts from Vehicle Emission Control Center of Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences are invited to share the development of the pre-research progress of the current VII standard. It is hoped that this meeting will provide a reliable channel for participants to have a preliminary discussion on low-carbon development and carbon peak neutrality in the transportation sector, as well as relevant opportunities and issues to be considered in the process.
