    Head of JLABS at Johnson & Johnson

    Sharon is a passionate and respected global health leader with extensive experience in business and product development across pharmaceuticals, medical devices, vaccines and technology platforms.

    As Head of JLABS @ Shanghai, Sharon is responsible for setting the strategic direction and overseeing all operational activities for JLABS @ Shanghai, the first Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JLABS in Asia Pacific and the largest in its global network. Her responsibilities include managing the portfolio of JLABS in the region and collaborating with its internal and external business partners across multiple sectors to implement educational programming and drive high-quality company sourcing from innovation hotspots across Asia Pacific. In 2020, Sharon was recognized by Forbes China as one of the 50 Top Women in Tech.

    Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Sharon was Head of Asia at Aeras, where she established its Beijing office for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and focused on tuberculosis (TB) vaccines. She had previously served as a member of the Senior Leadership team for Baxter in Shanghai with responsibility for providing strategic direction and making deals to add to Baxter’s top line growth. She began her career working in Business Development for Sosei Heptares, a Japanese start-up turned international biopharma focused on CNS, immuno-oncology, gastroenterology, inflammation and other rare/specialty indications, based in London.

    Sharon also holds prominent leadership appointments as a board member of Right 2 Thrive, focused on breaking the cycle of poverty in Kenya, and as a committee member of the China-Oxford Scholarship Fund in Shanghai and Beijing. She also teaches “Introduction to Vaccines: History, Development and Impact” at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in the Dept. of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology.

    Sharon received a Master Degree in Public Health (MPH) at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, USA; a Master Degree in Business Administration (EMBA) at IE Business School, Madrid, Spain; a Doctorate Degree in Biochemistry and Cardiovascular Medicine (DPhil) at University of Oxford, UK; and a Master Degree in Molecular Biology and Cellular Biochemistry (MBioChem) at University of Oxford, UK.

    Su Cheng Harris-Simpson is the founder and CEO of SCHSAsia, a boutique consultancy company, specializing in marketing and strategic events. Su Cheng uses her extensive client relations and project management skills along with her over 20 plus year of marketing background to assist a number of not-for-profit organizations, community organizations, bilateral associations and multinational corporations succeed in the China and Asian Countries. Since moving to China in 1997, Su Cheng has been actively involved in the Beijing business community, served on the Board of AmCham and is currently a co-chair for the AmCham Women Professional Committee, SME and Golf Committee. She has forged relationships with the American, British, Japanese and Australian Chambers of Commerce, the U.S. Embassy and a range of Beijing civic groups. Before becoming an social entrepreneur she was engaged in the corporate arena and held management positions at The Boeing Company, United Technologies Corporation, and The Capital Club in Beijing.

    Kesner has more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry, having held senior positions across sales, alliances and business development at number of world’s leading IT businesses, including Tata Communications, CenturyLink and Oracle, among others.

    Co-Founder of Women’s Tech Forum

    Sarah is one of the cofounders of the Women’s Tech Forum, a non-profit organization focused on the advancement and promotion of women in the cloud, data center and telecom space. She founded the organization in 2017 with 3 of her colleagues after the four of them realized they didn’t know many other women in their industry and sought to change that. WTF looks to create a safe space for women to connect on common experience, find ways to recruit and retain women in the industry, and provide opportunity for networking. The organization has grown to over 1300 members in its since inception and looks to evolve and expand its engagement with the industry in the coming years. Her industry experience over the last 15 years has ranged from operations to business development, beginning her career at telecom broker startup before transitioning to the OTT world. When not focusing on her mission with WTF, Sarah works in network planning and acquisition for Amazon, focusing on strategic investments and topology in Asia, Oceania and the TransPacific regions.
