Washington Perspectives on U.S.-China Relations, Political Dynamics, and Business Implications
*This event is for Chairman's Circle members and Policy+ subscribers only.*
๏ปฟWith President Xi's scheduled visit to the United States in late September approaching, considerable attention is focused on preparations for the summit, how it might address pressing issues such as AI governance, and what tangible outcomes, if any, may emerge from the talks.
Against this backdrop, AmCham China will host a Policy + exclusive briefing with Cameron Turley, Senior Managing Director at Ankura and leader of the Ankura China Advisors practice, for a timely discussion on the political and policy developments shaping the bilateral agenda. Drawing on his perspectives from Washington, Cameron will share his views on the expectations and uncertainties surrounding the upcoming summit, as well as what its outcomes - or lack thereof - may signal about the longer-term trajectory of the U.S.-China relationship.
The conversation will also explore:
- How the upcoming summit could shape the U.S.-China relationship for the remainder of 2026;
- The outlook for the upcoming U.S. midterm elections and the broader political landscape as the country moves toward the 2028 presidential election;
- The potential implications for U.S. and China policy; and
- What these developments could mean for multinational companies navigating an increasingly complex operating and policy environment in both countries.
๏ปฟPlease note:
- This session will be conducted in English.
- Due to limited capacity, we can accommodate only one representative per company. Seniority will be taken into consideration when confirming attendance.
- We encourage participants to come prepared with thoughtful questions.
