VUCA stands for Volatility, Uncertainty, ‌Complexity, and Ambiguity, which perfectly described our current working environment. In such environment, growing workload and decision-making pressure often lead to reactive problem-solving hobbit, leaving root causes unaddressed and workloads increasing. This event will focus on mindset shifts, methods & tools, and practical case exercise, helping participants develop proactive problem-solving mindset, learn systematic approaches, and solve real-case problem on-site.


VUCA是‌易变性(Volatility)、‌不确定性(Uncertainty)、‌复杂性(Complexity)和‌模糊性(Ambiguity)四个词的缩写,也是对当前我们所处工作环境的真实写照。在这样的环境下,我们在短时间内要解决的问题、要做出的决策越来越多,但很多人面对问题常常处于应激式的思维模式,很多问题看似得到了处理却未从根源上解决,因此,工作量越积越多、工作难度越来越大。本次工作坊将从思维方式、工具方法、和案例实操三个层面展开,帮助参与者初步建立起主动式思维,掌握常用的问题解决方法工具,并在在现场实现真实的问题解决。

Establishing a Mindset

-Case background introduction

Mastering Methodologies and Tools

-Classification of common problem-solving approaches

-In-depth explanation of four methodologies:

Brian teasing exersices

-100 ways to use a paper clip

­-Possible advantages of premium-priced European-manufactured products with longer response times in the Chinese market.


Practical Case Exercise:

Round 1:

  • Case introduction and task assignment
  • ­Case 1: Marketing case for a well-known foreign-owned personal care brand
  • ­Case 2: Reducing staff turnover rate in a U.S.-owned high-end precision manufacturing enterprise
  • Group task completion using "proactive thinking" and appropriate tools
  • Round 1 case review and feedback

Round 2:

  • Each group selects real problem-solving scenarios as new cases
  • Group task completion for new cases using "proactive thinking" and tools
  • Round 2 case review and feedback

    Nadya has been deeply engaged in the field of Operations Excellence after graduated from Penn State with master’s in industrial engineering. She is proficient in Lean Six Sigma Methodology and data analysis tools, and has rich project experience in quality management, process optimization and operation transformation. She is one of the only 20+ ASQ certified Master Black Belts in China, and the author of the “Trainer Development Handbook”.
