
James Zimmerman is the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China).
Based in Beijing, James is a author and lawyer who has lived and worked in China for three decades. He is a partner with the law firm of Loeb & Loeb LLP and advises foreign companies on corporate, transactional, regulatory, litigation and white-collar criminal defense matters. James previously served as Chairman of AmCham China for four prior terms in 2007-08 and 2015-16. He is the author of the acclaimed non-fiction book, The Peking Express: The Bandits Who Stole a Train, Stunned the West, and Broke the Republic of China.

Michael Hart is President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China based in Beijing. He has over twenty-five years of business experience in Asia, including nineteen years in mainland China.

Scott Kennedy is a senior adviser and Trustee Chair in Chinese Business and Economics at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). A leading authority on Chinese economic policy, Kennedy has been traveling to China for over 30 years. His specific areas of expertise include industrial policy, technology innovation, business lobbying, U.S.-China commercial relations, and global governance.
He is the editor of China’s Uneven High-Tech Drive: Implications for the United States (CSIS, February 2020) and (with Jude Blanchette) Chinese State Capitalism: Diagnosis and Prognosis (CSIS, October 2021) and the author of The State and the State of the Art on Philanthropy in China (Voluntas, August 2019), China’s Risky Drive into New-Energy Vehicles (CSIS, November 2018), The Fat Tech Dragon: Benchmarking China’s Innovation Drive (CSIS, August 2017), and The Business of Lobbying in China (Harvard University Press, 2005). He has edited three books, including Global Governance and China: The Dragon’s Learning Curve (Routledge, 2018). His articles have appeared in a wide array of policy, popular, and academic venues, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, and China Quarterly. He is currently finishing a report, Beyond Decoupling: Maintaining America’s Hi-Tech Advantages over China (CSIS, forthcoming Spring 2022).
From 2000 to 2014, Kennedy was a professor at Indiana University (IU), where he established the Research Center for Chinese Politics & Business and was the founding academic director of IU’s China Office. Kennedy received his Ph.D. in political science from George Washington University, his MA in China studies from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and his BA from the University of Virginia.

Yue Liu is currently Deputy Director and Research Fellow at the Institute of Foreign Economic Studies of the National Development and Reform Commission. She previously served as Deputy Director-General of the Institute of Territorial Development and Regional Economy under the National Development and Reform Commission, and as Director of the International Department at the Center for Urban and Small Town Reform and Development under the National Development and Reform Commission. Her research mainly focuses on international economics, regional economics, and sustainable development.

Vice President Zhang Graduated from the Graduate Institute of Interpretation and Translation at Beijing Foreign Studies University with a master’s degree in English Language and Literature. She is currently Deputy President of the China Center for Information Industry Development. She has long been engaged in bilateral and regional cooperation in the fields of industry and information technology, including China–ASEAN, China–Japan–ROK, and China–U.S. cooperation, and has also expanded her work into such areas as the digital transformation of SMEs, the display industry, the semiconductor industry, the shipbuilding industry, and think tank development for new industrialization, carrying out related research, policy studies, industry exchanges, and cooperation facilitation.

Professor Zhou is a doctoral supervisor, National Second-Class Professor, and recipient of the State Council Special Allowance. Her research focuses on US politics and foreign policy, US-China relations, and international relations. She previously served as Director of the Division of Political Studies at the Institute of American Studies at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS); Executive Dean of the National Academy of Strategy at Tsinghua University; and Dean of the Institute for Global Governance and Area Studies at Tongji University. She has also held numerous academic and professional appointments, including Vice President of the Chinese Association for American Studies, and currently serves as Vice President of the Pacific Society of China and Vice President of the Northeast Asia Research Association, among other roles. Professor Zhou has published 12 books, 104 academic articles, and multiple translated works, with more than 4.4 million Chinese characters in individually authored scholarly output. She has also written more than 170 commentaries, book reviews, and column articles. His work has received multiple first- and second-prize awards for outstanding research from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Bing Zhou served as the Head of China Government affairs at Vantive.
In this role, he is responsible for leading the development of government affairs strategy and policy management for the Chinese market.
Bing Zhou brings 20 years of experience in the field of Government Affairs in multinational organizations across various sectors including Intel, Dell, GE, Novartis, and Paypal as well as in China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM). Bing Zhou has served as the Deputy Director of the Bo’ao Forum for Asia (BFA) and is an expert on Asian Economic Integration.
Bing has a master’s degree at University of International Business and Economics and a bachelor’s degree at Wuhan University.

With over 20 years of distinguished career in multinational companies of different industries, Owen has extensive experiences in Corporate Communications and Government Affairs. He has broad working experiences in government relation, public policy, corporate social responsibility, and crisis management. Owen has held senior leadership roles in world-leading multinational companies including Vice President of Cargill Inc., Vice President of General Mills Inc. He used to take charge of Government Affairs in Pepsi Co and Eastman Kodak Company. Prior to joining the multinational companies, Owen worked for ACFSMC (formerly part of Ministry of Commerce) to manage international liaison and cooperation.

Mr. Shan Wenjun currently serves as General Manager of Government Affairs for GE Aerospace in Greater China. In this role, Mr. Shan represents GE Aerospace in engaging with Chinese government agencies, policymakers, and third-party organizations. He leads his team in executing GE Aerospace’s priorities in government affairs and policy, assists headquarters in developing China strategy, and drives business growth for GE Aerospace in Greater China.
