Event Details

The importance of working to promote green building and the development of current energy conservation transformation processes has only grown over the years. As China has become increasingly urbanized, the concept of low carbon, green, and intelligent cities has entered into mainstream development practices for urban construction, energy, and infrastructure. The US-China Energy Cooperation Program is committed to business practices that promote energy production and sustainability. It has a long-term focus on building energy conservation projects and urban issues on sustainable development by working with local governments, research institutions, enterprises in China and the United States and investment institutes and ECP had made some achievements in US-China Forums such as the US-China Energy Efficiency Forum and US-China Low Carbon City Summit etc.

We have invited Mahesh Ramanujam, President & CEO of U.S. Green Building Council, President & CEO Green Business Certification Inc. to deliver the key-note speech on the topic of "From Buildings to Cities, from Design to Operation – the Next Generation of Green Movement".

    Mahesh brings a true passion for people, the global business case for a sustainable built environment and an entrepreneurial leadership approach to USGBC and GBCI’s rapidly expanding and diversifying teams, as well as a suite of best-in-class products and offerings. Mahesh has a wide range of expertise including organizational leadership, consensus building and negotiation, global business and market development, marketing and communications, technological innovation and enterprise platform development, and organizational excellence.

    Before becoming CEO of USGBC, Mahesh served as USGBC’s Chief Operations Officer and as Chief Information Officer prior to that. Prior to joining GBCI in 2009, Mahesh was COO of Emergys Corp., a business technology-consulting firm that leverages emerging technologies to deliver business transformation to its clients. Over a period of 11 years, Mahesh successfully led various business transformation programs at IBM and Lenovo.

    Mahesh currently sits on the Advisory Council of the International WELL Building Institute and the Board of Directors of GRESB. Mahesh graduated from India’s Annamalai University with a degree in Computer Engineering.
