Dwight Nordstrom, chairman at PRI, will share best practices in finding & managing sourcing engineers in China. James Xiong, Vice President, Public Affairs at UPS China will venture into underdeveloped Policy & Regulatory Infrastructure for E-Commerce and develop some recommendations to confront the challenges. The event will progress under a watchful eye of Fanny Chen, Chairwoman of China Operations Council Divisional Vice President Greater China Supply Chain and Strategic Relations at Abbott Nutrition.

    Ms. Fanny Chen is the Divisional Vice President, Greater China Supply Chain & Strategic Relations for Abbott Nutrition. She is also the Chairwoman of China Operations Council.
    Fanny joined Abbott in 2001 and has held positions as Managing Director, China Supply Chain and Operations Development; Senior Director of Global Sourcing; Area Treasurer for Pacific, Asia, Africa and Middle East, and Manager of the Corporate Purchasing Biological and Device. As Chairwoman of China Operations Council, she leads across sites and across division operations through out Abbott China to drive synergy to achieve One Abbott Operation Excellence. She is also the founder of Abbott Global Supplier Social Responsibility (SSR) Program, fostering the safe working conditions, dignified and respectful treatment to employees, responsible manufacturing processes and ethical practices in supply chain.
    Prior to joining Abbott, Fanny worked as Controller/Chief Representative for Sealed Air Corporation, China Operation; various positions for McDonald’s Corporation in Oak Brook for its domestics and international markets; she also worked for the International Public Accounting firm in Chicago.
    Fanny earned her MBA in International Business and B.Sc. in Commerce from DePaul University in Chicago. She is a Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.); Certified Supply Chain Management (CPSM), and Certified International Purchasing Consultant (CIPC).

    Dwight Nordstrom has over 30 years of experience in doing business in China. Since 1990, he has been the Chairman (initially President) of PRI, a USA manufacturing-holding company with 20+ equity investments in China. PRI also has a consulting division (Beijing & Shanghai primarily locations) with support functions for start-up and/or expansion of manufacturing and application engineering in China. Mr. Nordstrom has been General Manager “GM” of 7 factories in China with employment ranging from 30 to over 750. He served 3-years as Minco China/Korea start-up GM with sales growing over 3X, developed very profitable sourcing & design engineering & local manufacturing efforts. He has been interim GM for 1+ year at PRI’s 100%-owned media division ZDL – largest Judeo-Christian ethics-content publisher in China. He was also, in the late 1980’s, the China Country Manager for one of GE’s divisions -- this was a GE HQ-corporate position. As of 2017, Mr. Nordstrom is in his 13th year as Chairman of the Manufacturing & Sourcing Forum for the American Chamber of Commerce (China). Mr. Nordstrom has written, on average, 1 published article per year since 1990. He has served on 10+ board of directors as well as been executive “coach” for many China Country Managers.

    As UPS China District Vice President of Public Affairs, James Xiong has responsibility for public policy, is Vice President, Public Affairs for UPS China. He oversees UPS government affairs matter for China district. Prior to his current assignment, James held the position as general manager at UPS Shanghai International Air Hub.

    James joined UPS China as Gateway Assistant in 2001. He was promoted to Air Network Planning Manager in 2007 and accepted an assignment as Shanghai Gateway Manager in 2009. During his career with China district, James has been involved with all important projects including extending UPS air network to cities of Qingdao, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Zhengzhou, establishment of two international air hub in Shanghai and Shenzhen, obtaining permit of entry for China domestic service market. James represented UPS Airlines in participating the IATA schedule conference meetings which held bi-annually around the world from 2005 to 2009. James was also the Dangerous Goods Coordinator for UPS China from 2005 to 2011, where he promoted the dangerous good compliance within China to the high standards.

    On behalf of UPS, James served as the Vice Chairman of “China Express Association”, which is the top national association for express industry. James graduated from Beijing Institute of Business with an International Trade Diploma and earned his masters degree in E-Government from Huazhong University of Science. James is also an active member of Logistics Emergency Teams under WFP representing UPS. James is married with one child.

    Mr. Lou Zhou is the Asia Pacific lead of Client Service Procurement, providing direct interlock and support to internal clients’ business strategies and financial performance objectives. The Client Services Procurement team provides unique expertise in support of New customer proposals and offerings, Global Services alliances, Corporate mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, profit enhancement, and process improvement on existing business.

    Mr. Lou Zhou holds a bachelor's degree in physics and a MBA from the State University of New York. He joined IBM in 1997. His 19 years tenure at IBM experienced a variety of leadership roles, including IBM US Finance and Procurement Department, Deputy Director in IBM China Research Lab, Program Director for Technical Sales in IBM Software, Director of Global Procurement Center, and the current role of Director of Asia Pacific Client Service Procurement.

    Mr. Lou Zhou has published multiple articles on industry Magazines and is a frequent speaker to industry organizations such as the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, International Sourcing Forum. He is also the Board Chair of MSD China for Minority Supplier Development and he was awarded as the Most Dedicated Individual of year 2012.
