Employees and managers who often participate in cross-cultural discussions, meetings, conference calls or video conferences with global team members.

Course Objectives

The course aims to develop the following competency of the participants:
  • Be strategically prepared for a purposeful discussion with global team members
  • Be able to participate proactively and articulate their opinions clearly and confidently
  • Be able to understand the other side’s story, and be able to reach agreement with global team members despite differences

2. Telephone/Conference Calls with Global Teams
• Small talk
• Purposeful conversation
• How to be more assertive in conference calls

3. An Uphill Battle – Dealing with Disagreement & Objection from Global Teams
• Handling rejections
• Problem solving
• Reconciliation
• Reaching agreement

You must register in advance. Walk-ins will not be accepted. Attendees need to pay by March 20, 2017. Limited spots are available and attendance is given on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Shiv Kumar

    Shiv has 15 years experience in developing and providing training programs in China. His past exprience includes being General Manager of Training & Diversity in Forton Motor and a trainer with Berlitz. He is also a certified leadership trainer and cross-cultural trainer for many years.
    Having studied and worked in India, Australia, Russia and China, Shiv has developed a deep understanding of cultural differences and effective cross-cultural communication. After being a corporate trainer in China on various communication skills and leadership topics for many years, he has also developed excellent training and facilitation skills and program designing ability.
    Shiv is an enthusiastic public speaker and his presentation style is vivid and interactive with a touch of humor. He is an expert in delivering tailored solutions to meet clients’ needs. Shiv has delivered training programs in many multinational companies, which include Caterpillar, Google, Novartis, Pfizer, IBM, Mars, Microsoft, P&G, SAP, Daimler, Thomson Reuters and Volkswagen. He has also delivered cross-cultural communication programs to Chinese companies that are going global, such as Xiaomi and Weichai.
    Shiv holds a BA degree in science from Panjab University, India and a diploma in hotel management from William Blue College, Australia.
