This course will be conducted in Chinese.

One of the biggest challenges of doing business in China is lack of predictability due to its uncertain regulatory and policy environment. Policy research, as the foundation of government affairs, helps business to navigate in this environment. However, where to look for the right information, how to read it between the lines and explain the non-explainable to the headquarters and provide solution-driven recommendations can be challenging to government affairs professionals.

In this training, we will discuss three key elements of policy research:

Monitoring: How and where to get useful information and monitor the developments of certain policy
Analysis: How read between the lines given the context, and come up with your own impact analysis
Reporting: How to explain the non-explainable and provide solution-driven recommendations to business or headquarters.

By the end of the training, the participants will be able to:

• Understand why policy research is the foundation of government affairs and how to use it to drive business advocacy result
• Develop a systematic and targeted approach for monitoring policy at different levels
• Understand the different analytical methods of policy research and how to use them
• How does a solution-oriented recommendation look like?
