Event Details
China is considering a draft Cybersecurity Law which is a subject of considerable sensitivity. In the Internet age, cybersecurity protects valuable information and processes at the core of business operations and personal privacy. Regulation of cybersecurity designed to protect business confidentiality and personal privacy is a critical concern.
The ICT Forum and Legal Committee are pleased to co-host a panel discussion on cybersecurity regulation with experts speaking from different perspectives. Zhang Li with the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) will discuss China’s regulatory landscape in this field. Lester Ross, a practicing lawyer, will discuss the legal implications and challenges with reference to the United States as well as China. George Bai from IBM will discuss the unwritten rules that companies and industries face and the practical implications of cybersecurity.
In recognition of the sensitivity of the issue, this event will be for AmCham card-holding members only and totally off the record.
Please note that Zhang Li's presentation is in Chinese (PowerPoint Slides are in Chinese) and we will provide consecutive translation on site.
