Event Details

Make your lunch productive and get more from your AmCham membership. These roundtables bring together 12-15 motivated young professionals within the AmCham community to share resources and best practices for success and career development. Young professionals interested in expanding their network, becoming more involved with AmCham, and getting to know their peers in the community are encouraged to register for this informal discussion. Priority will go to current AmCham members.

This month welcomes Colm Rafferty, current AmCham Board of Governors Vice-Chairman, Chairman of Vermeer China Limited, and Vice-President - Asia Pacific of Vermeer Corporation, a US equipment manufacturer. Rafferty's previous positions include Director of China Distribution Operations for Cummins and Director of Business Development for Alibaba Group. He will share experiences based on his 15 years of work in China in various industries.

Lunch will be provided by Juices by Melissa.

    Colm Rafferty

    Vice-President of Vermeer Beijing Manufacturing Ltd.

    Colm Rafferty works for Vermeer Corporation, where he is a member of the Executive Team and leads the company’s businesses across the Asia Pacific Region. He is also Chairman of the Board for Vermeer China Limited.

    Prior to joining Vermeer, Rafferty was Director of China Distribution Operations for Cummins (NYSE: CMI), with both operational and P&L responsibility for the company-owned distributors. During his time with Cummins, Rafferty held a variety of other leadership roles including Head of Emerging Markets Strategic Planning, where he oversaw the company's strategy in China, India, and Russia. Before joining Cummins, Rafferty worked for Alibaba Group (NYSE: BABA), where he was employee #120, and Director of Business Development.

    Rafferty received an MBA from the Yale School of Management, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian Studies (with honors) from Brown University. He currently serves on the Yale School of Management’s Greater China Advisory Board, is a member of the Executive Committee for the Beijing Chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), and is Vice Chairman of the Amcham China Policy Committee.

Terms and Conditions

Attending an Event
Events have limited seating, so to ensure your attendance we encourage advance online registration and payment for ALL events. We cannot guarantee entry to anyone not registered in advance.
Most of our events are in English and off the record, but please check the webpage for each event to avoid disappointment.

Advance Tickets and Discounts
Members can receive a discount by purchasing an advance ticket at least 24 hours before the day of the event. You must pay online at the time of registering for the event to be eligible for a discount.
Discounts will not be available to members at the door.

Receipts (fapiao)
You can receive your fapiao when you arrive for an event provided that you buy an advance ticket and pay online at least 1 working day before the event and you provide the correct information for your fapiao at that time. You can leave details of the type of fapiao you need on the registration and payment page.
 
Event attendees can request a fapiao at the door or up to two months after the event. Requests made after that time will not be accommodated. Please contact the AmCham China staff member responsible for organizing your event.
 
Cancellation Policy
If you cannot attend an event for which you have registered, please cancel your registration no later than one business day prior to the event. If you fail to notify AmCham China of your cancellation in a timely fashion, you will forfeit the fee you have already paid.

To cancel you can: 1) cancel directly online through the Eventbank platform on which you registered or 2) contact the AmCham China staff member responsible for organizing your event.
